This stage really isn't working for me. It's way too stark and at a basic level, doesn't even look like an NES. It's not gray, and the cartridge slot doesn't look like it covers enough of the top of the NES. For starters, some perspective would make it look much better. Try working off of this:

What I did here was heighten the canvas a ton, and set up a vanishing point waaaaay off-field. I then made sure all my lines converged on that point, kind of like this image shows:

That might be a good start. And after that, you should probably closely-reference some images of an NES. If you pop a picture of one into an image editor, measure it's dimensions, then divide the numbers you get, it'll help you with proportion.

He's saying that your references really don't have a place here because nobody understands them.

The entire premise of TFR is a compilation/mashup of various TSR/TVGR things.
It's a forum community game that celebrates The Video Game Resource and all of its members, using their well known refs and inside jokes to create stages, characters, and story.

Your characters are unfamiliar, and therefore, irrelevant to the idea of this project. Your character/contribution should comprise how YOU interact with the Comminity--how WE will remember you.

To put it bluntly, it's completely out of place. It'd be like throwing Kingdom Hearts references in Smash Bros, a game that celebrates Nintendo.

Well, it does make more sense.

Going for the fact on the second paragraph with my chars being unfamiliar, was because they were all OCs from Smackjeeves community (which, with that thought cleared it up for me). And on the third, you're right ; I'm throwing references to Smackjeevs in TFR. Ouch!

DragonDePlatino, your reference did help. Using a hand-me-down NES (which, I gforgot I could've used while making the original) and I'm gonna start remaking the stage, without SJ stuffss. -o-;

I made the NES Stage, now using my NES.

I dunno what to have in the new crowd for now. Blank
BUT![size=small]

I have though of a cool idea of a stage.

What if, there was a boxing ring stage? Think Super Smash 4's.
The crowd around the ring can be a lot of TVGR members, and the center part in the ring (where a logo of sorts would be), could be the icon for TVGR or TSR. Whaddathink?

In terms of proportion that is far too squashed for a NES, so you could perhaps raise it or not make it as wide as the stage?

It's all being updated on the first post. Pretty sure there was something in the rules to do that.

You should update it on the first post, in addition to posting each new update (separately from the sheet) in a new post. It makes it easier for everybody, I think.

Yeah, that does make more sense, considering everybody'd wanna chack what's the newest. >.<

ANYWAY

Added losing sprites! They're under the Winning sprites at the top, which are :

i don't want to offend you but you're being a bit lazy.
allmost all your attacks are derivated from the same attack.
he just pops cars and...that's all.
if you're making a gbc char moveset, try using diferent characters.
he could pop up vaati, link, pikachu, meta knight,sonic,megaman...
there's a lot of possibilities.
make him a bit more funny.

THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE IN THE LEAST-*shot*

Yeah, I do admit that using only 3 different games for the moves is lazy in all glory.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Made 2 moves (Duck punch and Jump punch) moves have the GBC.

[Image: tfrquirbylargenew_by_quirbstheepic-d7mmfxk.png]

(Duck punch is Pac-Man Color Edition, Jump is Marble Madness)

Could you label everything on the sheet in future, as well as spacing out the individual animations a bit more, please?

To be honest, if your character makes it in TFR, I'm concerned he's going to be a punching bag: what with the extreme close range attacks and their low damage, and your character's just above average health level and low defense level. The only redeeming part will be his jumping to evade all attacks.

I suggest you put forward this huge strength which is his jumping ability - how about aerial specials? Attacks that can push the opponent in the air so you can start those quick combos?

If you take these into account, I think your character will be more balanced and more interesting to play. I hope it helps!

as what c2b said.
i have some ideas you could use.
1 he could pop-up a charmander and make him use flamethrower.it's long-ranged so it's good.
2 he could pop-up link's master sword and swing it for quick attacks.
3 his mario attack could get some changes at to make it shots fireballs.
4 he could pop-up a squirtle for the foward punch and make him use hidro pump.(water carries people away so it's perfect)
5 he could pop-up a pidgey for the backward punch and make him use gust(tornadoes carries people away so it's perfect)
