Shadowth117's stuff

true, hrm.... I've seen some models of kirby in MMD, I have'nt had a chance to look at them closer to see if they are ripped or handmade. I've got a model of metaknight but i think it's just hand made useing textures from the game, i'll see if i can figure out an easy way to rig the epic mouth of kirby

I actually meant to just get Game&Watch, but his textures never seem to rip so I decided to put him on hold for now and rip a textureless version of him at some point. I figured I may as well get the stage so I ripped this. It looks simple, but there's a few mirroring issues and just distorted UV's (As in rotated diagonally and skewed) for some reason. The distorted UV's are normal for SSBM and the main reason I don't want to do too many stage rips from this game, but since this was a fairly simple stage I figured why not.

I think Game & Watch doesn't actually use any textures; just a color. I know for sure it's that way in Brawl, so it might well be true for Melee.

Huh really? Well that would certainly make sense. I guess I'll have to go back and get him then.

Yeah I dunno I had a sudden urge to go and get him from my Soul Calibur 4 dump. He just has a bunch of different textures so working on the materials is a pain. It doesn't help that the textures in this game generally have grayscale syndrome so the colors can be changed around easier ingame. Not that you could customize him ingame anyway though unfortunately.

I'll probably work on more SSBM rips soon, but I just felt like taking a quick break from those.

Oh heck yeah Shadowth! I have a friend who has been wanting a Darth Vader model to play with for nearly a month. He'll be ecstatic when I show him this! So on his behalf I thank you.

That's certainly good to hear. Its always nice to hear directly that someone will be getting use out of these. If I end up working on Yoda and The Apprentice tomorrow I'll post them up as well.

Got Starkiller ripped. Never played The Force Unleashed, but he's a pretty cool character ingame.

the apprentance looks ausome,
hrm...
is it possible that the greyscale could be corrected by editing the texture? JPGs have that edit feature that is a little different then just useing paint, sometimes I experament with different color technices until I get the image looks correct. would it be possible to just darken the greyscaled textures as the helmet is black to begin with? I find that even a small change in texture can do a whole lot for a model in general.

That's what it is actually Valfor. The textures were designed to be died various colors ingame with the custom character editor. That's also what those flat colored pink and blue textures are for. They're color change maps that you mix with the diffuse texture in the material editor to change its colors. You could just edit the textures themselves as well, but its convenient to be able to change the colors on the fly.

As for .Jpg's having different features, that sounds more like a special shell command for a program more than anything else. With any decent photo editing software like Gimp or Photoshop you could do the same thing.

I have gimp somewhere on one of my flashdrives but i'm down to my last gigabite on my computer....so I'm trying to mlake do with what i have on here currently. I actually have a diploma of certification when it comes to useing Photosphop...problem is, I don't own photoshop....kinda ticks me off that the school did'nt give me a copy of photoshop when i graduated (they did it for one student in my class)
I'm hopeing i can get a new computer soon, and I still need to get all my data off my old desktop, it's got alot of my artwork and literature stored on it and it won't acept anything but floppydisks(no CD burner)

hrm.... maybe it would be possible to take a screenshot of the vader in action, so that i could sample textures and colors from it to get a good cleaner looking model...

If you need references for these guys, just look at these: http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/940048-s...-iv/images

Also, I'd try using a flash drive to get stuff off of that computer. Every computer made in the last decade supports plug 'n play so unless its old enough it has no USB drives than you should be fine.

it's a windows 95 I think, I have'nt really used it since 2007, and my parents tossed away the cords for it, the worst part was that my dad smashed the monitor in with a hammer when he found it in the trunk of my car....he said it was outdated technology so he smashed it so i could'nt keep it.[ -__- great dad huh?] all I have left is the computer tower itself. I tried useing flash drives but the USB drive dose'nt even regester that anything is in it. I used to use floppy disks as those seem to be the only things that it will allow things to be loaded on to but with my family even if i go out a buy a new case of floppys they chunk em thinking they are old ones. -___-

the Yoda model looks great. I found a really good custom one on 3d studio warehouse, only problem is that this particular model had big tubes of earhair.....the rest of the model looked like it had been ripped strait out of the movie.
are any of the stages rippable from Soul Caliber as well?
Thanked by:

The stages are and weapons are all rippable too, but I just haven't extracted them. The stages though are made up of a bunch of different parts that have to be put together manually.
