Random Talking Bush's Model Importers and QuickBMS Scripts
{snip, don't quote the entire first post}

Is there a NO script that can import .GNO, .GNM file to blender 2.8 or 2.7? Because I'm not familiar with 3DS Max at all. I just ripped Sonic and the Secret and Sonic and the Black Knight

I have been Trying to convert, import, or just generally view the contents of the "GN" type Sonic and the Black Knight files myself and the best solution (at least for GNO) is to use the xno2dae converter after renaming the GNO file extension to lowercase: .gno. This should give you a Dae file which can be imported to Blender. I still can't figure out the other GN type files yet though

Is anyone here familiar with a script that might be able to decompress GNM, GNV, or GNA file formats like the ones resulting from games like Sonic and the Black Knight? I've been stuck at this area in conversion for a while so some advice would be great

Hey RTB, I was hoping you could supply me with a really old yet effective python script that seems to have vanished off the face of the internet. It was a tool for extracting brres files from...well...anything that contained them. 'Auto Hexing Brres Separator' I believe it was called.

Okay, I don't want to be "that guy" but does anyone know of a version of this that would be more suitable for a Blender modeling background on the extracted models? I ask this since 3dsMax is simply Way out of my price range

I'm trying to rip models from Smash U, but I can't seem to unpack the dt00/dt01 archives. Is there a QuickBMS script that unpacks them?

Hate to keep harping on you about this, but it's been a really long time, and I was hoping you'd have gotten your Runner2 script working. I really wanna get the characters and their alt skins from the game...

Figured I'd finally get off my lazy butt and finish off my World of Final Fantasy model importing script which I'd teased here earlier, since a PC version was released not too long ago. Thankfully, unlike the Vita version, the filesystem's not a pile of nonsense to figure out, so it's actually possible to find specific models! You'll need to run the decompressor script on anything you wish to import first since practically everything in the game is ZLIB-compressed, and then use the TEX-to-DDS script to get the textures into a usable format (note: some of them are BC7 format, so you'll need to have either Noesis or another program capable of importing those).

No automatic texture application for the models yet, though, but most of the character models from this game only have one texture so it's fairly trivial.

Download MaxScript (UPDATED 12/04/17)
Download File Decompressor
Download TEX to DDS Converter (UPDATED 12/07/17)

Fun fact: Sora's model is still in the PC version's files despite being "removed". How about that.

What progress have you made on updating the *NO Importer Script? Because it's been a month since I last posted on here, and you said you'd "hopefully" have it done before the end of October. I'm sorry for sounding impatient, but I really need that script for some models I'm trying to [correctly] rip and submit to tMR.
I'm still working on that, it's taking a lot longer than I expected due to having to rewrite a crapton of things, and to make sure that nothing errors anymore or reads data improperly. I've almost got the ENO parser done, I'd just like to see out if I can get the vertex morphs to import as well for the Free Riders models before I consider that "done".

No clue about the Zero Gravity stuff yet, I'm scratching my head trying to figure out the "OOCH" archive stuff, nothing I've tried is working.

So how would somebody use these nowadays? Since I can’t find any way to open .bms files because Biowrap is no longer available...
There’s some really cute models from World of Final Fantasy that I want to extract and I’d really like some help sorting out this issue...

.bms Files are used by a program called 'QuickBMS', by a dev known commonly as 'aluigi'. Do a quick search for QuickBMS and you'll find it easily.

Oh, thank you very much! Now I just gotta figure out how to work this thing and figure out what file is what...
I don't suppose anyone could help with that?

You take your BMS, and drag it on the QuickBMS Exe (or QuickBMS_4GB for files larger than 4G in size), and you browse your directory for the required file/format. Smile

I'm still not sure what I'm doing...
This is what the resource files under characters looks like:[Image: unknown.png]
And within each of those folders is this:[Image: unknown.png]
So I'm not sure what is what here or what to do with these files...
I'm just trying to find the Carbuncle and Topaz Carbuncle models and extract them along with their textures so I can use them for a mod in FFXIV...
I just want these cuties following around my character in FFXIV...

Oh, okay. My apologies. I don't recognize this setup at all.

You want the models, you said?

Yeah, right now I'm going through all the models in Max to see if I can find the Carbuncle and Topaz Carbuncle models...
There's so many though I don't know how I'm going to find them
