Assuming those screenshots are real, 17 across by 3 high = 50 + Random, fill in the revealed characters that aren't there... then that means that there's 21 characters that have yet to be revealed, including the veterans that haven't been shown off yet (judging by the space between DeDeDe and Fox, Meta Knight is pretty much a given, for example).

That's really bad design having locked characters haphazardly thrown around like that. I know the characters are trying to lump the characters in by series, but I feel the fact it is trying that hard to show that of all things makes it seem even more fake. Brawl just rearranged the list as you unlocked characters and that worked fine.

Wasn't it cool that when you unlock Luigi, he'd swap places with Pikachu next to Mario in Melee?
Either way looking at the image I've posted earlier makes it seem rather suspicious how a camera could show every pixel composing the hud with such resolution. Unless that TV is hyper HD or something.

Yeah, I'm a bit skeptical about that one, especially since Mega Man is there as well (which contradicts the previous picture where he was still locked) Aren't they all supposed to have the same roster for the demos? It's either the latter is, or both are fake.

Didn't even think about the fact these could be demos where stuff is locked out.
If that WAS the case (which the more I think about it, maybe it coincides with the Best Buy demos), maybe the different places they were given to were given different setups so they know who does the leaking.
Of course, still highly skeptical. Now is around the time a true leak is likely to surface though, closer to e3 and closer to the demos and release.

Quote:If this roster shows how big the final roster will be, at least, 51 characters in the game. Merely 12 more than the total amount of characters in Brawl...
That's about average for the franchise.
Quote:Either there's been a lot of cuts or the roster we're seeing does not show how big the final roster actually is.
Why? You already said there were 12 more slots than Brawl had total characters. That roster demonstrates enough capacity to bring back every single character from Brawl's 39, plus the six newcomers up on the site, plus six more newcomers if we assume there won't be a random and the Five won't be returning.

That's probably it. IMO the poor angles and zoom are covering up the fact they're faking it, rather than someone taking a picture on the down low

Somebody posted this prediction on GameFaqs from somewhere else, and after examining the spacing of the locked characters, I can say this is pretty much how I see it panning out as well, with one minor tweak. I think that the Random slot on the far right is actually where the Mii would be, and then Olimar would be where the Mii was, and then Mewtwo will be where Olimar was. If it was a Random slot, there would be no reason for it to have a lock on a demo screen, right?
Anyway, if this was the roster, I'd be pretty okay with it. If it is real, I'm happy to see that, arguably, there's probably another rep for Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem and Metroid, assuming they don't lump single characters from a series into a slot. However, in the same vein I'm also somewhat disappointed that Zelda has no newcomer, unless Ganondorf gets a major overhaul and feels new.
Of course, if this is real, I'd love to be completely blown out of the water by seeing one of those predicted slots filled with something completely different that nobody else expects. Or with one of my own guilty pleasure characters, that'd be cool too. Someday, Claus... someday...

inb4 those aren't all the characters we're getting and there's actually like fourteen (?) more characters that aren't shown in that roster. I'M CALLING IT!
Nah, jokes aside, this seems like a solid amount of characters for the roster. Since I believe the Sal leak is bull, though, I'd replace the Chorus Men with someone else, like Takamaru or Lip. And move Olimar to the space Mii is taking, so that Mewtwo can appear as well.

With all the talk about newcomers from underrated Nintendo series, I'm starting to wonder what happened to DeMille and Tomato Adventure.
