Can't help but notice that Lucina's mask is only ever on her face in that taunt pose. I REALLY hope it's able to be toggled like the magazine (apparently) said it would. :<

I doubt anything is getting revealed today, but I did hear rumor that Nintendo's or Smash's YouTube had a private video up.

Probably nothing.

Today's update is somewhat interesting just to get to see what menu options are, but I feel like the buttons just lead to so much more than what they are showing. Makes me jumpy and want the game right now.

I haven't been able to watch the streams, but I read some comments on various places.

Is he good just with the Bowser Bomb, or is he just so buff all around?

Also I'm glad that Bowser is just better in general. He's one of my favorite characters.

The Bowsers were using a lot more than just the Bowser Bomb to net KOs. The Toon Links and Luigis in the tournament were pretty spammy but there was some impressive Bowser action going on.

I didn't watch all of it, but from what I saw the two most popular picks were Bowser and Kirby. And usually one of those two would come out the winner, it seemed.

I know they've been saying for a long time that Bowser has been powered up, but for people to be putting that much faith into him that power boost must be INSANE.

I only hope that Dedede got a similar treatment, or he's going to be left in the dust. The only thing we've really seen about him that he's more expressive. Oh and the Gordo thing, which I now guess was probably done as a way of trying to power him up a bit.

I hope that all the underpowered characters get at least a bit of a boost.

One I'm wondering about in terms of nerfs is Meta Knight. I REALLY love him as a character, and I'd still play him even if they nerfed him, I just want them to do it in a good way. Something like reducing his recovery (maybe eliminate free control of his standard and side specials, eliminate his glide, etc), keep his speed high, and maybe replace one or two moves.

I remember Return to Dreamland had some interesting moves for him, like the flying kick.

Speaking of Return to Dream Land, it's ironic that Meta Knight ended up becoming the weakest playable character in the game considering how overpowered he is in Brawl. Even Waddle Dee can do better than him in boss rush! XD

I don't think he was necessarily the weakest, just a lot more technical. He has a lot of moves that give him invincibility frames that allow him to simultaneously dodge attacks while dishing damage that you have to learn how to utilize. The spear ability on the other hand, which is what Waddle Dee uses, is just ridiculously easy to use to the point that it seems like the best ability in the game. I don't think they're actually all that different in power though, just ease of use.

In regards to the Smash version of Meta Knight, though, he's actually already kind of auto-nerfed by proxy of the fact that the gliding mechanic has been cut, drastically reducing his recovery ability. His recovery special might actually need to be changed to compensate a little.

Here's a thought: what if his Mach Tornado became his Up Special and he was given a new special entirely? I think that would be interesting.

Maybe if he was nerfed in a few other attributes, giving him the Sword Beam as a standard special might be cool.

If I recall, the gliding mechanic was only confirmed to be removed on Pit. It hasn't been confirmed whether or not he's the only one with this change, or if this affects the others, if not all of them.

So who knows, maybe the gliding mechanic may exclusive to Meta Knight this time (just please let him only use it after his Shuttle Loop)

But really, Meta Knight is fine with being a god in recovery, so long as he isn't so good at offense as well. Seriously, almost all of his attacks have transcendent priority*, and they are all already too fast, both at start up and and at cool down, allowing him to rack up a lot of damage without any trouble (assuming you can use him effectively) which, combined with the fact that his attacks can't be cancelled, results in the infamously broken character he is.


So if his offense is notably nerfed (like removing transcendent priority in most attacks, and/or nerfing his already few kill moves), he'd be a little more balanced, being pretty much a speedy character that can deal a lot of damage but can't kill, and is very light but can recover remarkably.

Just my two cents.

Guys i have a theory a game theory, the mysterious mursame castle is getting released august 7th in NA as well so i think Takamaru has a higher chance of being in smash now,
