I love you all to death (Just so I can smash bros with you) (SSBWiiU/3DS)
I'm glad you mentioned Sable because he's another one of Nintendo's underrated heroes lost to never getting a sequel and having his game be left in Japan. True, I know that there's an unofficial fan-translation for the game somewhere online, but still…

Anyway, if it's one Japan-exlcusive that needs to make a comeback, I'd say it should be DeMille (the guy in my current avatar).

I would be very surprised if we didn't get a Namco character. I mean, Namco is making the game!

I'm against having more obscure characters in Smash; no one knows who they are, hence they probably won't play as them; in my opinion, there would be wasted character spots. Although, Smash has let people know who different characters are, like I didn't know who Captain Falcon was before Brawl; now I have to buy GX and U(if it comes out).

EDIT: @AuraLancer Yes! Pac-Man!

Much like you said, it's a bit of a risk to include obscure characters in Smash Bros. Of course, it usually works out in Nintendo's favor if they give certain neglected franchises their time in the spotlight.

Don't believe me? Well, a majority of the Earthbound/Mother fans were introduced to Ness in the first Smash Bros. games before ever hearing about the SNES cult classic. Heck, when Marth and Roy were introduced, there was a sharp demand to bring the Fire Emblem games to North America.

I completely agree. But Nintendo can't afford to do that this time; they have to hit a home run with this game. It has to sell tons of Wii U's.

One game won't "save" the Wii U anyway. They need to do well with all of their main franchises. I for one is all for obscure characters; that's how I discovered Fire Emblem.

One thing they must do is come out with a new StarFox, F-ZERO, Metroid, Animal Crossing, and an original game that revolutionizes the use of the GamePad.

Not to mention Pit actually getting a brand-new game after 20 or so years, just because of the massively positive reception to his re-introduction in Brawl.

I dunno about that. Getting a constant stream of quality games out, whether they feature obscure characters or not, sounds like a pretty darn good plan to me. More games = more sales.

Just because it's obscure doesn't mean its not good. Especially when Nintendo's involved. Just means it's not well known or didn't get enough games yet.

Besides, if it WASN'T good... they just have to make it good then right?
Christianity is my faith not my religion. And neither should be pushed upon people.
HELP-Need as much C+C and playtesting as I can get on my SHMUP Megaman reimagining!

Mappy, huh? I wouldn't mind if he entered this game considering that he is one of Namco's biggest underdogs. Having him in another game (even as a cameo) would be good for his reputation.

I know I'm cheesy (no pun intended) for saying something like that, but ever since I watched the Mappy web series from Shifty Look, I gained a new appreciation for the character.

Exactly. I mean, The Wonderful 101 is an obscure game, and it's one of the best games I've ever played! And many Gamecube games are obscure too, but that doesn't stop them from being excellent.
Has there been a Wonderful 101 Assist Trophy revealed yet?
