then again, this guy seems to be passing his opinions as a fact, so i sorta think this guy deserves what was coming to him.

if it was such a bad experiment, why would fans want a sequel to it? you seem to contradict yourself there. plus, if i am correct, i dont really hear anyone asking for a sonic lost world sequel, which was a very experimental title itself...

dont mean to beat a dead horse, but this statement here struck me as odd...

I'm sorry for all of that. I just hate it when people just satrt up a "Sonic is stupid becuse he doesn't have great games any more. DER A DER" threads. All I keep hearing now adays is "Sonic will never be good agien" and "Why can't SEGA make games like Nintendo?", and when I start playing these games, there not that bad. I liked the Warehog. The Sonic RPG was not that bad. Secret of the Rings was my favrate Wii games before I played Mario Galaxy. I love the cast of charicters. I'm not trying to pass my opinion off on any one, but just saying "This sucks" becuse it's not 100% good. To replay to BullockDS

Mario 64 has an even worse Camra, worse control sceme, has not aged well (opinion), and I bet you Loooooooved the clock level and the cloud levels. If you count the DS remake, the control is even worse, Wario feels wasted, and the 100% reward is not as good and is on par with Sunshine's. At lest when they desided to update Sonic Adventure, they fixed a good deal of problums and added the Game Gear games.

As for Sunshine, I don't like it. The game is not fun and almost nothing works for the game. However, for whatever reason, people love this game. They love every part of it and they want a sequel to it.

I knew I was venting and I still am. My point I have been failing to make (and I know I was doing a shity job at making it) is Why do we hate Sonic so much and Love Mario, even though I can name a ton of things that Mario wrong that people love him for.
There's nothing to discuss if you take the most controversial parts of Sonic games and say you like them out of pure subjective and extremely unpopular opinion, and then take the best parts of Mario and say "they're not that good 90% of the world is wrong" without any actual reason or criticism to back it up.

the bias is strong within this one.

uhm, nintendo didnt really do a bad job with adding new things in mario 64 imo. they remade the graphics, added 30 more stars, and gave people the characters they wanted. the control issue have been solved by the 3ds circle pad, so there's that. i get the 100% bonus sucked, but then again, most games dont really have 100% bonuses, so its not really an issue. playing the entirety of the game should be an accomplishment itself!

the improvement in the remakes really makes everything new and fresh, whereas sonic adventure dx is just updated main character models and game gear games that are quite forgetable tbh.

hey man, i get it. sonic adventure 2 battle was like, my second video game ever. i get that youre trying to defend your dying franchise, its just that youre making opinions that are completely biased. youre not acknowledging that sonic can also be bad at times.

mario is a well received franchise because he is getting consistently good games. sure, theyre just the same cookie cutter games, but that doesnt mean they're bad. sonics first 4 games were the best of the best, (to most people, i dont really enjoy them all that much) but it really didnt get anywhere after that...

sonic adventure had a bad camera, voice acting, and even weird glitches/graphic issues that happen too much. sonic adventure 2 had a bad camera and dumb treasure levels. sonic heroes was very repetitive and overall annoying special stages. shadow the hedgehog was just an unnecessary game in general, buttery shoes and everything. sonic 06 was pretty much the final blow. sonic unleashed had good daytime levels, but slow and time consuming werehog stages (which werent really all that bad tbh...). sonic colors was good, but the 2d parts took over way too often. sonic generations was actually a good game, but it couldve been better if they didnt rush it. aaanddddd sonic lost world was just an experiment to see what people would like, and it didnt do so well...

its sad to see sonic end up this way. its just that sonic team needs to get their act together and start making the games that their fans want. sonic generations was a good step for sonic. i still dont know why sonic team hasnt continued with that formula. its really hurting the franchise that they didnt.
While i do enjoy Mario games. But i'm getting real tired of idiot fans treating Nintendo like some sacred cow. You know what i mean.
One thing i do wish they would do is give the cast of Mario more character and personality. Keeping them flat is never a good thing.
This is one of the reasons Disney fans prefer Donald Duck and Goofy over Mickey Mouse. Especially when it comes to the comics.

But Sonic does have an equal, even more-so, dumbass fanbase, which is why i stay away from joining some of the major fansites.
Despite the arguing and problems about the games, the spinoff merchandise is doing well. Including the comics by Archie.
Right now, they're planning what looks like a Sega and Capcom crossover called Worlds Unite. But collecting it is gonna be a chore.
If THIS doesn't happen in said crossover. I'm going to be disappointed yet again. (Also the reason why i didn't buy Project X Zone)
The encounter obviously needs to happen, complete with jokes about similarities.

Though I ignore the Boom comic due to the overuse of 4th wall gags ruins it for me. It's not even Looney Tunes or Deadpool quality of gags.
We're talking about gameplay and presentation.

Mario isn't even all they have either, they milk him sure, but they have several franchises that they also do perfectly well with with very few blunders (Other M). They're just a good COMPANY as a whole, this is why Super Smash Brothers is possible. Where's SEGA's other characters, they rely on Sonic Team for everything.

All washed up, ainchya boi.

People treat Nintendo like a holy cow for a reason when it comes to being compared to SEGA; after the Sega Genesis they became a complete miss. I still say Sonic is way better in Nintendo's hands if it ever happened, their own company is just pretty irresponsible and doesn't deserve to keep afloat in notoriety because of a series started waaaay before any of the current employees got on there happened to actually be good at one point.
Admittedly, I wish Sega did do something with Alex Kidd. Miracle World is one of my favorites when it comes to classic Sega.
Hey, at least they're working with Game Freak on Tembo the Badass Elephant, which does look promising.

I should also mention that the three games on Wii U deal was the reason we have yet to see ports of Taxman and Stealth's remakes of S1 & S2.
The Sonic CD remake was a blessing, since SCD software is tricky to emulate properly on new systems.
Also, there's been a campaign to see that S3K gets the same treatment. Since i prefer it over S1 and S2. Sega should get it done.
But some are saying that there's legal issues with the music. But we need proof from Sega about that. As Wikipedia would put it:

Oh and they should tackle Knuckles Chaotix as well. I don't care if it's a mess. That's the one game that needs to be relreased.
If Sonic were in Nintendo's hands, Taxman and Stealth would have a job immidietely and the rest of the titles would see VC release Smug
I'd like to see another Tails game myself.

Hey, if Luigi's allowed to have his own games, Tails should too. Hell, it might give them time to come up with a good Sonic game in the meantime.

Tails' Adventure 2 for the 3DS, SEGA. Come on, it'd be great.
I dunno about a Tails game being a hit, Tails was made to accompany Sonic in his adventures as his trusty (and cute) sidekick and one cant do with the other (they complete eachother :V) but thats just what I think.

If you ask me sega should have just sticked to the classic gameplay mechanics when they crossed over to 3D.
Honestly, the Sonic franchise is broad enough in spectrum to have a lot of neat games... it would also be a way to continue using the characters Sonic Team has developed without shoehorning them into every Sonic game. Sonic could figure out some kind of core gameplay (I guess people are liking his Sonic Colors type of game... not for me, but whatever), Knuckles and/or Tails could do the whole Metroidvania thing, the Chaotix could do work very well in a Marvel Ultimate Alliance type of game...
Is it bad of me to want a Knuckles game that has the spirit of the old collectathon games seen on the N64?
Oh god that actually sounds awesome. Knuckles' ability to glide and climb on surfaces just makes sense for an exploration based game.

Truth be told, the Knuckles segments were my favorite parts of the Adventure titles.
5/5 sounds bretty good.

Knuckles is my favorite character (along with Eggman, of course) and I'd like to see him in a game mechanically similar to Metroid/Castlevania. That is assuming it was competently developed and not coded terribly.
If only they didn't butcher his personality post heroes. He's my favorite too and I miss when he was almost as equally if not actually more relevant than Tails. Sonic characters are all varied enough for their own side series aside from the main games. Knuckles could have his own collectathon action spinoffs with the Chaotix while Tails could have a few puzzle platformers again.

Unfortunately SEGA doesn't know how to properly develop their own characters or make a polished game to pull off a good spinoff that'd get people to buy. Smug
Here's a real question. Just how many characters have they introduced that never make it out of one particular series?
