I don't know why I had such a hard time choosing whether to do this or not.
As you can tell, I've updated Paper Mario, but now I've changed my spriting focus to something else...

Gardevoir!
Yeah, it's in the same style as my Zoroark...and Tai...and Paper Mario...you get the idea here right?

[Image: Gardevoir.png] [Image: Walk.gif]
Gardevoir is the first time I've dealt with animating any dress type of thing on a character, and it is not easy to make it look like she has legs without making it look like a forced detail, which caused a bit of trouble with her walk animation.

But now I'm having a problem with the run, so I made two versions:
[Image: Run1.gif] This one looks pretty good, but seems a little choppy.
[Image: Run2.gif] This one animates better(IMO), but might make Gardevoir's feet look big.
you do not know you dresses work, right?

Dresses were never meant to be worn to run, therefore you can't ant may not run while using it normally. You risk stepping on the fabric and tumbling over yourself in such manner. The skirt doesn't let you open the legs naturally.

[Image: 7539528-a-beautiful-caucasian-bride-in-h...in-the.jpg]

This leads to lifting the skirt of the dress to run, as seen in the pic above. You know, those comical princess cartoons featuring such animation. Try referencing those when animating a dress run.

Now while I pointed out the usual criticism regarding dresses, I'll say that none of these apply to Gardevoir, imo. She is an elegantly-shaped pokemon so running wildly does not suit her at all. In this case, take advantage of the fact that she is a psychic pokemon and make her float over the ground.
Yeah I should have made Gardevoir float to run in the first place.

It's gonna be difficult to do some things like the climbing animation, but it's still a lot fun to do anyway.
Thanks for tellin' me about how the dresses work, I'll use MPA Peach as a ref(instead of MarioLand 2 Mario [Image: Luigi.png]) when I need to do a run animation for another dress-wearing character.
Hello again, don't worry I'm Still spriting Gradevoir, it's just I got bored last night and started spriting Penta and Penko from Yume Penguin Monogatari(You know, that obscure Konami game?).

I don't REALLY plan on turning it into a full sheet (I'd have to make 4 sets of sprites in 1 sheet), but I do think it's a good way to see how good my custom spriting skills are so far, since most everything I had shown up until now was edited off of at least one sprite I made prior to signing up to this forum.
2 triple posts, in 1 thread, I hope I'm not breaking a rule in some way.

But I've finished Paper Mario, it wasn't fun, easy or new, it was just Paper Mario.

Take a look in the spoiler:

I'm going to try to get Gardevoir done sometime but maybe not soon, I also have plans to sprite a Mario Style Hilbert from Pokémon Versions Black and White(Possibly).

You might not be seeing any progress on things from me for awhile(besides fixing any problems with Paper Mario), I need like a week's break from all of this spriting!
Quadruple Post? Oh no, what's going on? [Image: L_like_this_right.png]

I've finished Gardevoir, at least to my vision,
[Image: Gardevoir.png] [Image: Gardevoir_Icon.png]

Do you see anything wrong? I want to fix all problems before I try to submit it to TSR.
I know my topic has been rotting for a while, but I've started spriting another character in my style: K I R B Y

I got some basic things down so far.

Standing to sucking

Jumping/Falling

Walking
[Image: Walkin.gif]

I'll make the sheet after I'm done with the rest of his main sprites.
The colours on Kirby's body need more contrast.
Here is a quick edit I did on the colours

also dat quintuple post
When Kirby's left arm(our right) is extended, it looks pointy.
There's also banding on the top left of Kirby.

Well, what do you think now? I've also changed the walking frames a bit.
After the design is set, I can start on the sheet.
Gardevoir should be labeled as "SMB2-Styled" instead of Mario-Style. You always want to specify the game style if it's a series that uses multiple styles.

I thought it was general Mario-style(although I was mostly leaning towards SMB3) with the swimming and running, and vegetable pulling being different like in SMBX(pulls it like in SMB2, holds it like in SMB3).

MANDATORY SPRITE ON POST!
I decided I don't want to finish Kirby, instead I want to do something I'd find more fun to sprite, and, you guessed it, it's a Pokémon.

I plan to give Chespin the same basic sprites as Zoroark.
After this I'm going to try and sprite something else because I don't want Pokémon to become my spriting 'thing'.
Almost done, I just need to add some special moves. Right now I'm running it through here again because there might be a problem.
