Be my guest, I've never animated a custom sprite other than NES Mega Man style so I'd be pretty stuck on animating six legs. Sick
M'kay,
also could someone check over my beehive sprite, I think it's a little off.
Well there's always a possibility we could make either way work, enlarging Bawler or sizing down Tickers. Personally I think we should decide on a general "average" for what we want those types of enemies to hit, like possibly those goblin things in Mumbo's Mountain being only a tad bigger than Mumbo

If anyone is small though it's Colliwobble, I can tell I was half asleep when I did him lol

And yeah Kami it's really off in alot of ways. I'll try and see if I can edit it a bit
I've gone and worked with my tileset, again... it's better than before, I finally nailed the color of the ground, now to figure out the colors that will work better with the grass. The tileset also uses 16x16 tiles and width of the image is part of the tileset and I cannot modify it without reprocussions on my end. Tongue

Now to start animating the Ticker.

I agree on that. I do feel like it'd be easier to enlarge Bawl though simply for the reason it doesn't have as much detail. Or as many legs.

If we enlargen Bawl, we'll need to enlargen Topper and Colliwobble, so the sizes stay consistant.
Well, if anyone thinks it'd really be easier to make Ticker smaller then they can try to edit him I suppose, since I genuinely have no idea how I'd do it.
I try both ways to see which one is easier or looks better.
Nice Edit Bwar, Ive decided to try and make a walk cycle for Mr. Vile, and this is what I came up with:

Now, the only thing that I wish I could do is make his tail wave back and forth, but I cant seem to get the right shape to do so.

EDIT: any place were we can see it move, isn't there a image hosting site that allows gifs, for I don't have software to do so.

Imgur allows gifs

Also, we need to difine how many frames walking animations will have to be consistant. We could maybe use this one as an example for walking animations.
As for jumping sprites for what ever jumps they have: Rising Frame, Peak of Jump Frame(Simpler characters like Bawl or Topper can use idle frame for it), Falling Frame, Landing Frame.

I use Gamemaker to preview my sprites before exporting the frames and adding them together in previous's Animator.
Thanks, I'm downloading Previous' GIF animator right now.

I feel that between 6 or 8 frames will be good enough for walking, you don't want it to fast (less Frames) , and yet too slow (more Frames).
I have to double Mr. Vile's animation length so it includes his tail swinging.
It'll run at the same speed but the first loop will have his tail swing to the left, and the other loop will have his tail swing to the right.
K that is fine, but here is what he looks like with just the legs

not bad for my first actual Sprite animation, (I do take Animation classes, but I didn't make any custom sprite animations before)

EDIT: although, his back leg kinda looks like it jerks to quick.
Made his tail swing back and forth:

Now I'm going to start messing around with Ticker since he's still othering me.
