Star Fall Lake Enemies [Enemies], Light House Enemies [Enemies] - 4/11/2012

Puggsy (Genesis)

Problem solved. In Gens11b, I simply went to Graphics -> Layers -> Sprites, then selected Swap Sprite Layers, and the sprites lightened up to their proper palettes. If I do the same with Scroll B, everything else underwater will brighten up too (although everything outside will go dark). I'm not sure why this happens, if I try to disable the two Sprite layers (High and Low), one does nothing and the other removes the sprites themselves. But anyway, I'm glad I managed to clear it up.

The Light House had a similar problem, not with water but just the whole level was dark, and this solved it too. Also, in case you're wondering, it is actually called the "Light House" not "Lighthouse" in the game. It isn't the proper way of writing it but hey.

By the way, most of the enemy names I'm not sure about I get from this walkthough (the only place I can find them), it's not official but I don't think they have official names. The birds in the Light House are referred in there as puffins (puffin' on their pipes Tongue), but personally I think it looks more like a pelican, which is why I named them so in the sheet. If you think I should rename it as puffin I can do so but I'm pretty sure it's a pelican.
Oh and I couldn't find a name anywhere for that purple thing and I had no idea what it's supposed to be so I just called it "slime".

Anyhoo, enjoy Genki ^_^
You really don't have to name them anything, but you probably knew that and do it anyway since you're like me and like to label things for the sake of being helpful. Tongue
It's funny that he's naming them like I named the Ghostbusters bosses. Tongue

That's pretty much it, yeah, kind of like how I label the puzzles in my puzzle sheets. Also since it's multiple enemies in one sheet, I thought to border them and label them to keep it organised, rather than a bunch of enemies next to each other with no real separation. If it were a single enemy in each sheet, the sheet's name would be the enemy name anyway (like TKGB's Raccoons sheet), so I may as well name them if they're put together as well.
Well that's usually why people have separate enemies and objects on separate lines, but yeah however you want is good.
Aaaand these are upsies!

Been playing this a lot lately so I thought I'd make up for some of the the time I've wasted by submitting some of it. These are the JPGs I was talking about in the other thread: just converted them to PNG with IrfanView. The images in the "clouds" folder (in part 2) were already PNG though, just with different extensions.
By the way, if you think these fit better under "Backgrounds" rather than "Miscellaneous" then feel free to do so. I wasn't sure which to choose because even though these are the only backgrounds in the game, and might not deserve a whole section for themselves. Although you did so for World of Goo.

Sorry for the scarcity of sheets from me, I've been busy with coding, school, and I tend to spend free time gaming Tongue However the summer holidays (for me) aren't too far off so that should give me space. Hopefully I'll get get that Mario sheet sorted out and can start churning out the sheets more frequently again.
Well things like title screens, backgrounds and what have you are already obvious so I stick them where I know they go. Wink
"Pirates"

Bute nice rips =)
Whoops, thanks for that. Fixed now.
Uploaded. Or rather, uploading; taking a while due to size and my poop net.
Short Bus [Ship], Dart [Ship], Scout [Ship], Grasshopper [Ship], Gopher [Ship] - 11/12/2012

Space Pirates and Zombies (PC/Computer)

Thought to start on ships since they're easy to do and the crux of the game, as well as the most abundant of sprites.
I've named the icons and zips as the proper names, while leaving the actual files with their original file names. For some of these this will be the same (e.g. Short Bus), but with others these can be quite different. In one case I actually got pretty confused: the Scout's files are named as a "ranger", and another ship that's called the Ranger (which I'll submit later on) has it's files named "scout". I dunno if this was a mistake by the developers or they actually decided to swap the names during development but whatever. If you prefer though I can rename the files to match the in-game names.

By the way I just noticed that with all my other archived sprite submissions I totally forgot to add a tag. I know it's not a big deal though and I can't be bothered to reupload them all (I bet you guys can't either) so I'll just leave them be. I'll be including tags from now on though (I'll have to overcome my consistency OCD Tongue).

Anyway I better get to bed now, but expect more of these soon.

More ships.
They're all up~
BTW, I'd keep their original file names yeah.
Boomerang [Ship], Ranger [Ship], Colt [Ship], Turtle Head [Ship], Cyclops [Ship], Left Hook [Ship] - 16/12/2012

Note that the Turtle Head uses the Ranger's shield sprite. It doesn't actually have one next to the rest of its sprites in the game files, but since the Turtle Head is supposed to be the Ranger's predecessor (as well as it being named "girlscout" and the Ranger "scout"), I figured they shared the shield file. They're pretty much the same shape anyway so it makes sense.
OK, so with Deathbringer's help I managed to rip some of Guru-Guru's missing sprites from the Oracle of Seasons. However I noticed that the sheets of the game look pretty unorganised, for example there are both separate sheets for NPCs and one "Non-playable characters" sheet, the latter which is painfully incomplete and basically obsolete (I'll mention this in the Errors thread).

So there are 2 things I want to ask:
First of all, the "Windmill" sheet contains both Guru-Guru and his windmill, but not the inside tiles of his house (if that's what you'd call it). Personally I would have put the windmill together with the tiles, and Guru-Guru in a separate sheet. Should I do that? The same goes for Vasu, the Mayor, the Know-it-all Birds, and Blaino.

Secondly, do you want NPCs in their own sheets or one massive sheet? Personally I would put them all in their own, but the only problem with this is that some (like that artist guy by the fountain) only have like 2 frames. I could make a "Horon Village NPCs" sheet for these though.

In any case, I'm really amazed by how unorganised this game's sheets are, and just want to help make it a bit cleaner. I mean it's not only the NPCs either, I mean just look at Horon Village Houses and House Interior, they're both incomplete and have different palettes, not to mention one's giving tiles while the other isn't.

Sorry if I'm sounding overly disappointed or something here, I know it can be hard to keep a game's rips organised. It's just that I expected such a well known game to be ripped a bit more carefully.
