3DS Ripping Catch-All Thread
Wait, which one are the 3DS sprites?
As for quality, the bottom ones look fussier to me.
The top looks sharper.

The ones on the top are the DS sprites, and have colour blockiness (like DDS/DXT textures do) while the bottom ones are the 3DS sprites with no compression-based quality loss whatsoever (Lemongrab's even got his eye whites like he's supposed to).

The 3DS sprites look so much better than the DS ones do. They're so crisp, and they don't look like they were exported to .jpg like the DS ones.

What should I call these?

I can't pinpoint on what they are for exactly, but I think I'll go with "Pokémon Previews" or "Renders". Previews probably fits best.

I think those would be the Pokédex previews, if I'm not mistaken (though I probably am).

But yeah, don't worry about sending me the Pokémon models this time, I've already got them now. Smile

Ah yes, sorry about that. I just got the files myself Smile
I don't have quick access to my 4.5 3DS right now, so I have to get them all in bulk whenever I can.

Edit:
I don't know what this is, but it scares me.

Now if only I knew how to compile it...

Woah, I recognize the NintendoWare name from OoT 3d files. Neat.

Oh, look what I found Big Grin

They are in a kinda strange format for the 3ds, but I think I got it figured out. Looks fine to me.

I'm happy to see that these are new icons, and not just reused from Black and White.

And I recognize "NintendoWare" from the Wii's MDL0 files (NintendoWare 4 Revolution). Tongue

those 120x120 sprites were in the demo, and are pokedex related renders.

we've (projectpokemon) have already dumped a lot of the relevant sprites already:

a/0/9/1 ~ Pokemon Box Sprites & Montage
a/0/9/2 ~ Item Sprites & Montage
a/2/6/3 ~ 120x120 Dex Sprites

others:
a/1/6/0 ~ Trainer Mugshots
a/2/7/7 ~ Ruby Sapphire Pokemon Sprites (384 nonshiny)

all can be ripped with png2bclim

Hey uhm...I know this is pretty much uncalled for an probably annoying, and I hate to seem pushy or impatient...I know you guys are doing the absolute best you can with your balance of real life issues and this little hobby of ours...and I really don't want to seem like one of those guys who just asks for everything handed to them either. I was just wondering if we could soon see the sheet of Antasma's overworld sprites from Mario and Luigi: Dream Team? I'm not too concerned about the battle sprites since they're pretty...samey when it comes to him, but his overworld appearance intrigues me and I'm antsy about the entire thing being finally ripped properly. I mean I know I've been harping on most of you guys for a while about various things, and honestly if I had the capabilities to do what you do, on my own, I would jump at the chance to move things along and take the pressure off you all if only slightly.

Anyway, I had a question about the whole memory dump thing. How do I tell what firmware my 3DS is? And would a 2DS be possible to utilize as well? I'm completely clueless as to what freak modifiers the two have thrown in to differentiate from each other...

It is very unlikely that a 2DS has the right version, but you can check the version of any 3DS with the system settings app (just look in one of the corners of one of the screens in the app for the text).
