Final Fantasy Dimensions (Android .obb file)
#1
Hi there, i'm looking for a method to decompress Final Fantasy Dimensions' .obb file.
Does anybody know how to do it, perhaps?

Hi, thanks for your reply, i tried to download your new tool "FFDII.jar" and discovered that isn't available anymore, could you provide it again?
(Obbdown doesn't work for me neither, same errors as that user)

Thanks, i tested it and... it just does nothing, no errors, no responses, nothing. Just an instant execution before i can write again in the prompt.

Ok, i'm looking forward to it.

Alright, thank you.
Specifically, i wanted to decompress this 'cause i'm willing to translate the game in my native tongue, looks like there are 18 files inside which is stored all game text:

msg0-15.dat (dialogues)
sysmes.dat (not sure, seems all japanese)
system_messages.dat (ui, inventory, shops, descriptions, tutorials etc)

Let's deal with these .dat files now, any thoughts?
Thanks again.

Amazing, really. It extracted all the .dat files which contain text, except for the "sys" ones.
At least, now i can start translating. I'll download and try Poedit right away. About repacking the whole thing, we got all the time in the world, don't worry, it's not a race against time. Right now i would focus in extracting the remaining text files (probably we need only system_messages.dat, since the other one seems contain only asiatic languages).

Without you, this wouldn't have been possible. Thank you from my heart.

Instead of 16 msg files for each language, just one for each of them that contains everything? Incredibile, i can't wait for it, that would be really useful, like you said, in case i need to search/substitute unique strings (i was still using notepad++ to do that).

Understood, thank you.
I already started translating yesterday, made about 300 strings, now i'll have to move the completed work in this new version.
Let me know if anything can be done to obtain system_messages.dat text.

Regards.

Update:

Uh oh, this is something that should be checked more deeply, take a look:

Missing in 2.0 probably 'cause of deduplications, in this case the word "Sundries" is being used in two different contexts, as a category selection for Moogle Emporium, and as a standalone shop name, take a look at these screens from 1.0

Good thing is that for now it's the only anomaly i found, so i'll stick working with 2.0 version. In any case, deduplication maybe just for ".name" strings would be a better solution, also considering that identical words but used in various contexts often imply different meanings.

Hey, what happened to you? All your posts disappeared...
I have to know that you're still here, or my efforts in translating this game will be useless...
