Feeding Frenzy 2 Sprite ripping (.theora)
#1
Hello, I am looking to rip some sprites from a game called 'Feeding Frenzy 2'

The sprites for the characters in this game are packed in a .theora file, which to my knowledge is a video format. I am having trouble to rip it directly from that file as I am unable to open it directly, this is the problem I need help most with. Someone that has knowledge of the format that can help me rip it from the file.

This is what the folder looks like, the alpha texture is stored out in the folder while the actual sprite is stored in the theora file: https://i.imgur.com/QJGtFNh.png

If anyone can help me, here's a sample of the .theora to work with: http://www.mediafire.com/file/8g3xryx41y...heora/file

If possible, I am also looking to find a method to compile a set of sprites back to the .theora file where it can be read by the game. Modders seem to have a hard time finding a method to do this as well. So if anyone has an idea how to, please share.

Took a quick look at it. Very interesting indeed!
Think you could upload all those files somewhere?
If there are more folders with a similar structure, could you post the one with the smallest (in kilobytes) theirs?

Here's the smallest one: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zr01w9411b...y.zip/file (6kb)
The sprites should be contained in the same animation.theora file

and here are the files for the rest of the characters if you want other examples: http://www.mediafire.com/file/t4wgtk0sbe...actors.zip

Sorry man, no dice. I've never seen anything like this.  Ouch!
You might get help from someone more versed in video encoding schemes.

Any ideas where I can find someone, or a community that may figure this out?

maybe some ffmpeg forums? If such exist. But I'd imagine people who are deep in the ffmpeg game know the ins and outs of the theora decoding process.

If you find someone, please let us know!

Bumping this to see if anyone can help figure this out. If it helps I could give a copy of the game or something.
