Does anyone feel that most of the highly requested characters that people want are overrated?

What do you mean by that? Are you talking the obscure picks like Chorus Kids and Mach Rider? Or the extremely wanted characters such as Banjo and Geno? If the latter I disagree, the reason they are wanted so badly is they come from fantastic games with little representation. Banjo only has 2 main series games a cameo in Diddy Kong Racing and 3 spinoffs (yes I count Nuts & Bolts as a spinoff), and Geno only has one! Banjo & Geno are both icons of Nintendo's past that deserve some recognition.

Not to mention Geno's Cameo in Mario and Luigi's Super Star Saga.

I don't think many of the requested characters are overrated for the newcomers of Smash Ultimate. But personally if you ask me the only two characters I think that are overrated in smash as far as I am concerned are probably Bayonetta and Cloud. Cool as they are that they're in one is really a sex icon that's subverted in it's game that somehow became a meme and the other is from the most overhyped final fantasy game that never actually showed up on a nintendo console before.

I didn't really forget I just didn't think it was worth mentioning since the appearance was so small. As you said I really hope Nintendo just buys Geno along with the rest of the SMRPG cast. Its not like Square does anything with them. Even if they only got Geno & Mallow it would be good enough for me. By the way who owns Boshi? Is he in the legal gray area that the Diddy Kong Racing cast live in?

Pretty sure that's also Square's IP.

Would be nice to see him in a Mario game again, He'd be Yoshi's answer to Mario's Wario in that regard.

Boshi would make the perfect Echo for Yoshi, and if Geno is in you can bet I'll be crossing my fingers. It would be so, so easy...

Most of the highly requested characters, I have no knowledge of them except for Phoenix Wright.

My guess is it was made earlier than it was originally because of obvious leak related topics. Still hyped as ever though! For anybody disappointed by the leak don't forget it was only characters we still have that mysterious mode and last five stages to be exited about!

I'm expecting to see all the tears drop when Sora is not confirmed. To be totally honest.

I'm so excited for it. I'm hoping for Dialga, Groudon, Raikou, Celebi, Arcues, & more Pokémon become Poké Ball Assists since Sakurai did say more than 50 Pokémon will be Poké Balls. Also Just because the Pokémon appears on a Stage doesn't mean that it won't be a PokéBall in the full game since Electrode & Palkia are both.

Whats the deal with Sora? I never had a PlayStation growing up so I never got a chance to try it. I have watched many reviews however and from what I can gather it's mostly Disney Nostalgia. The story is way too complicated and the original characters (like Sora) don't really have much going for them. If people wanted him on for say PlayStation All-Stars I would get it since. But Smash, KH3 isn't even coming to switch!? The only Nintendo games from KH were those GBA and DS games that pretty much got replaced by movies and remakes later. Cloud may be a PS icon but FF7 impacted gaming, I can't say the same for Sora. So is there something I missed? Is KH just something that has to be played to understand?
