Nancy Drew .AVF files

Do you get an error message? Also I'd like to get some to check out, it might be the files themselves.
You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. -Mary Pickford

No, I just get a message from Windows saying "AVFExt has stopped working" and the program becomes unresponsive.

To further add to the confusion, there are a few files ending in 'x' that work fine. They all start with 'l'.

So the issue with these files is that for some reason, they're marked as read only. The program was denied access as it was trying to load them with read + write access (which I wasn't aware of).

Anyway, v1.2 opens them just with read access, so it should work fine. Same link as usual.

Hello. I am also trying to rip graphics from the Nancy Drew games. I downloaded CMake 3.8.0 and the AVFExt. I also have the AVF file I want to rip. But I don't know what to do now. Can you please tell me what I do next in a step by step process please?

You don't need to compile it, let alone with CMake. Just go to the releases tab near the top of the page, there you can find executables to download and run.

Hey Puggsoy thanks for creating this tool, are you able to create a tool that can convert the png files that are extracted from the .avf files back to .avf as it would be useful for modding the game.
