my AoC and BotW ripping project

Decided to move to separate thread with progress of my ripping files from AoC and BotW

AHEM

So I was tired of waiting for others, and with new game out, lost hope. So I tried once again to get the files out myself with much better results.

So far I got mostly buildings and other stuff. I can get probably anything from base game of AoC (can't figure out how to get the DLC stuff out, and I give up with them) and BotW.

I do them randomly, what looks like fun to do next, there is over 1k files in CharacterEditor and 8,5k in FieldEditor, a lot of them are duplicates for some reason, but still, it's a lot of files to sort through...

the models I have so far

Age of Calamity
Brath of the Wild
I will try do add to archive as much as I can, but I might not add all the models right away.

Also, should I post BotW models in WiiU section even if I got them from Switch release? I'm confused...

Wow, this stuff is very impressive! Nice work on the AoC models especially, I tried to rip some models a while back and it got messy quickly.

As for the BotW models I imagine that you would have to post them under the Switch section if you got them from the switch release. Even though the games are practically identical, there are so many other cases where there's differences by console that making BotW the exception would be an odd special case.

another batch, mostly from Hyrule castle. I can get anything out with right textures now... to the point it got boring X"D

love the details here, Zelda study

piece of the castle, if you run around in BotW of TotK, it's the one with spiral staircase going down

some corridor

some gate that looked cool

I wonder if I want to tackle more castle pieces next, or some houses... there are few nice models of destroyed houses I saw around
(I will probably not touch for long any enemy bases and there is a lot of them there... yawn... saw also yiga clan rooms, but I have no need for them for now...)

Another batch done, once I know my test upload is ok, I will have way to much to add...

This time something small...

Something a bit bigger... (I really love the houses in this game)

And something massive that took me way too long to match all the textures (160 image files, both diffuse and normal) but imo the castle in AoC (and BotW and Totk too in a way) are something else

(the destruction is only on one side, so I can easily restore it for my own uses one day : D)

so I figured out that you can get some data into plain text and working on BotW map become so much faster as I can just choose to place this or that objects next : D

I left Hetano for now and started on the castle area, will then mix it with AoC models to have 3 levels of destruction of this place X"D (so far I only placed base land masses as it was the most exciting part for me X"D)

I got the rotation to work correctly : D it's a lot of work, but the castle looks splendid Heart

I would probably only add parts of the castle to the archive tho...
I wonder how the rooms we got in AoC will fit here... I'm pretty sure we got to few more areas

it will take a while but I wiil have places of interest in blender at some point

I'm playing with textures with some models like spring of courage and made a discovery? I think? it was news for me anyway

how the moss and brick are mixed together is stored in color atribute. dae exports preserves that information

one more thing, mesh names are usually way to long and anything too long is just not imported. when I notice I don't have an UV map or this color atribute, I just change all the names to something short, as it really helps to get the models as right as possible
