Hi VG-Resource, it's been a while since I was last online here.

I haven't made a whole lot of sprites since I've joined this community, partially because I have not known what to make. I'm not exactly very creative, so I have a bit of difficulty coming up with ideas. What I would like to ask this community for are a few simple ideas or suggestions of things to sprite to help me with practicing pixel art.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I will post the results of all the completed suggestions here.

Edit:
Well, these are my most recent sprites...

The arms on the little guy look synced, but that might just be because the legs are all black. Try to make it look like they're going opposite each other so he's not walking like a penguin.

I changed the outline on one of the legs to a dark grey. I know I'm supposed to keep the outline consistent with the whole sprite, but this was the only way I could think of to fix the problem.

Also, I'm just going to quickly change this place into a regular sprite thread(but if anybody has any ideas as to what I should make next, feel free to post it here).

I think it's OK to make exceptions now and then, if it helps the sprite. Here, for instance, it's a visible improvement.

I tried stepping out of my comfort zone by working in a different style. I wanted to try making a more detailed sprite with a larger palette compared to my previous sprites. It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, but I think it's OK for an early attempt at trying something different.

It's supposed to be some sort of a robot mechanic guy. I gave him an arm cannon that also functions as a multi-tool(I gave him a wrench...). I tried adding a bandana, but I'm unfamiliar with making folds/wrinkles in the fabric, the shading isn't that great and the tool belt didn't turn out very good, but other than those few issues I don't think it's too bad.

It's open for crits, but I'm going to be moving on to other stuff pretty soon. I plan on practicing a lot more by making/using a bunch of characters in an attempt to develop my own style!

It could probably use some more contrast and the hair is shaped a bit weirdly, like there's too little hair on the back of his head.

Other than that, it seems pretty good.

I'll try to fix the contrast when I'm back from work. The hair was supposed to be a bandana, but I didn't quite know how to make it.

EDIT: I'm just going to fix it tomorrow...

Okay, I would suggest making the texture more simple and easy to read.

I reduced the palette from 11 to 9 colors, increased the contrast, removed the textures from the bandana, and tried to fix the shading a bit.

I started these at around the end of fall. I got a standing position and a large chunk of the running animation completed. I probably won't finish the sprites due to how long it's been since I last worked on them, but I do personally think they're pretty cool. Other than that, I really haven't done much spriting for a long time.

I do want to get back into pixel art, so I'll try to make something in the near future.

Looks cool, but the head rotates way too fast and a bit too much for the walk cycle.

That's a run cycle, E-Man.

For the run, it looks more like someone in a controlled fast walking motion on a tread mill, if you can see that..? The main issue I see is that the arms and legs move with a constant speed. Instead, at the extremes they should be accelerating or decelerating. That means that during the extremes they move slower(with more frames). During intermediate frames, they move the fastest (with less frames). You already have the frames, so it's more of a timing adjustment.

Oh, right then. Since it was going a little slow and the body isn't pushed forward as much compared to most run cycles I know, I mistook it for  a walk cycle. Sorry…  Shy

The head does kinda seem to be jerking, though, and the hair doesn't move at all. Even a Z-axis rotation would be better than nothing.
