Using Ninja Ripper with Dolphin
#1
I was looking for a DX11 equivalent to 3d ripper dx and found Ninja Ripper. I wanted such a tool to get models from Dolphin, as its devs are abandoning 32-bit and DX9 support. I ran the emulator from ninja ripper, hit the capture key and nothing happened. Thinking there was a fluke with the ripper, I opened Freelancer with it. Ripped fine. And while I can get it to dump textures, that both isn't what I want and is redundant due to the emulator's native capability. And while I could just use BRRESviewer for a lot of the games, there are several i wish to rip from that don't support that format. So my question is if anyone else has been having a similar problem and/or have a solution to mine.

I use DXRipper to rip models in Dolphin. It works great with most games, and a few games can even capture the characters in a T-pose.

tried DXRipper out on 32-bit DX9 dolphin. It will give a dump, but nothing I could comprehend when loaded into Milkshape. tried the different XYZ combinations, but most the meshes were stretched out at extremes. I think only one object retained its shape, and it wasn't the one i wanted.

Yeah, I've noticed it seems to do that in some games.

Your best bet would be to go back to 3DRipperDX then.

While I know this will be a temporary fix due to the reasons stated in the first, I regressed to 3dripperdx, ripped the models and only needed some slight scaling to get the proportions proper. however, I seem to be having trouble getting the textures to appear. I've tried opening them in several modeling programs, converting the dds files to png and replacing the filenames in the mtl file to reflect that, but nothing seems to work. What could i be doing wrong?
