I've been following / reading this thread since yesterday. While it does constantly die and get revived, I've been taking a lot of interest in helping. Maybe the rest of the tiles for Green Greens? I'd love to go ahead and take a shot at those.

Of course, while scouting around here I've had some nitpicks. Mainly that Kirby's "full" frames just don't look much different from his regular ones, minus the puffed out cheeks. Most of the times in the games he is significantly larger to portray this.

Edit: Yes...thank god. Finally updated my tablet driver. Now I can start. Not being able to right-click was driving me bonkers.

Edit 2: So I ended up working on Twizzy instead...*facepalm*
Ah well. It didn't turn out too badly I don't think. I just started out with Twizzy's basic frames; you guys think any transition should be added somewhere?

Edit 3: Started on Blopper. Not really sure about it. Gloss isn't used often in this Kirby advance-like style, but it is portrayed as a glossy character, so....

Well I've been working on the tiles a little bit: made the large hill and spliced some of those existing tiles around to make combined ones. Starting to work on making a mock-up of sorts referencing the tiles on the actual level in the original game. That way there's an idea of what needs to be done and such...also because it's really quite fun. Maybe one of us can add those extra "tall grass" tiles above the foreground grass later on.

Little workstation, here. Whether I'm doing well or not, this is quite a blast. x3c

totally going to add on this

i see youre using the pallete. i did give the indication of a no limit when it came to making colors. although, i recommend that it shouldnt really be the pallete.

ill update OP with this in mind

Yes. The hill-like structures appear to have been recolored by Lexou Duck when he compiled the large sheet (actually the clouds were, too); I was a little confused at him using the palette for that, but I think it looked pretty decent in that color. But I understand what you mean; thanks for clarifying! I suppose we'll see what we can do by working outside of the palette, then. :>

Edit: work space from last night. Made the hills be the colors that recolorking originally had them as. More touching-up, too!

I'm working on Kracko. Has anyone already claimed him?

Here's what I have of Kracko so far.

I'm going to add the lightning and beam attacks soon. Note that the spikes are striped, like in Kirby Triple Deluxe! This adds a modern feel to it. I hope you like it.

Even more Kracko! The blue palette is for his rain attack (I included a raindrop) and the gray is for his lightning attack. He will use the same Beam effects as Waddle Doo. Can someone please make lightning effects? I'm terrible at those! Thanks!

okay, ill be more clear this time

use the style that we are trying to achieve. at the moment, none of your sprites are accepted. i never gave your glunk the "ok" because not only did we have ours, yours was subpar compared to our work.

i recommend reading the original post so you can understand this better.

File is getting way too long.

Made more progress on the first section / area of the Green Greens level. What's left is a large area of sky (with clouds, of course) and a little bit of background scenery to the very, very right. Also was having a little bit of difficulty on the dirt tiles; or, for that matter, if they should even be dirt. Maybe they should be stone? I guess I'll just have to check Nightmare in Dreamland as a reference. |P

Gonna stop working on tiles for now.

Recme, I think this guy misinterpreted this comment you made about the Glunk.

Quote:he actually looks quite fun to animate, so imma give him a go today if i can!

When you said it would be fun to animate and you'll give it a go, he thought you liked the sprite enough to use in the project and he's good to go for the sprite.

Of course, in the same post you made this comment, you clearly stated that you already had a Glunk that was in the right palette, which makes me wonder how he could have missed it.

it's ok to suck, sucking is not bad, just try and aim to always do your best!

of course, even he did misinterpret what i said, on the same page contained the correct sprite that i animated.

yes, i feel really bad when i kind make things like that. i dont really have a excuse for halting this project all the time. its just my fault for working on too many projects when i should be working on one at a time. i find it nice when most people have hope in this project c:>

btw, i have edited some of the tiles (mostly color related i guess) in order to make it more natural lookin'

i know speed-x put a lot effort into remaking the first stage, so ill be sure to update that.

also! another thing about the clouds is that there is probably going to be less and theyll probably do a sorta parallax scrolling type of thing/ incase some people dont know what im talking about, i just show an example.

Nah, no worries! I'm just as bad with that, if not worse. I'm such a drifter: can't really stick to one thing for too long. There's always just so much floating around in my head simultaneously. And I quite agree! That's likely when you know that said project is a "diamond in the rough," so to speak.

No worries! If anything one of us can just recolor all of the applied tiles at once using GraphicsGale using the color selection tool...actually, I might do that right now.

Click!

Also, hope you don't mind that I altered the color on that brightest grass color just a teensy bit. Put it more on the yellow side of the spectrum. :>

Edit: oh, I just now remember what I originally made this post for...altered Bloppy a tad and added its "cupcake" form.

I think it was just a little over-shaded in the previous one....
