Should I remove the light spots to make it not so shiny? Question

[Image: 9d4VX.png] Is this better Vipershark? Cute

I put it in another window and zoomed in and looked at it and then tried to do the same you did with my sprite but some parts I could not make so good so I made them a lot like you did because it looked great! I'm sorry if that is not okay and I will ask next time!! CryEmbarassed
Please dont be mad at me!SadShyCool
I made the gray into a bright blue and because StarSock64 said so I then tried to make the saturation of the other colors higher too but they looked worse so i did not change them and Im not sure which colors he meant, just the gray or also other colors? NinjaPokemonOuch!

To make up for the confusion at the beginning with mario and because I have seen that cute kart sprite in Trolerskate's topic I made a SupaMarioKart mario!!

Lookin' good! This is nothing big, but just wanting to point out that on the side views Mario's mustache looks very flat, whereas it should have a point to it.
Here is a ref of the 'stache.

Again, its really nothing, just something I thought when I looked at it.

Everything is all red, making all the parts blend together. You may want to throw in some grey and use the blue not only for his pants, but also for the cart (so it won't be red and blend with Mario's arms etc).
I'd also like to mention that it's best not to work with pure-white backgrounds, but rather some more neutral colours - especially when using pure white inside the sprites like you do! I usually take some pale green.

I made an example.

I made his skin more yellow- and brown-ish so it wouldn't blend with the cap and sleeves and I used the brown shade for what I assume are his shoes? The tires are grey, the kart itself blue, thus everything is more distinguishable. It's certainly not perfect but I hope you get the point.
Just so you know, it uses the same amount of unique colours. Avoid having multiple shades that look almost the same.

It's a gif, an animated picture.
When you copy one of these, it'll copy the first frame only, so you can only see the first frame in Mspaint.
You should download a gif editing program (Previous made one btw, it's awesome, check his sig) or just use the print screen function.

Almost there. If you look at Mario's mustache it points up, not out. If you notice, his mustache should almost touch his sideburns.

The first 2 show your progression, and did a quick edit to what I think the mustache should be more like. It was literally a 5 sec edit, but I believe it to be more Mario like.

This, HOWEVER.
The whole point is that you shouldn't just open it in paint and copy everything. Instead, you should at least recreate the clusters by hand so you eventually get a better feeling for them. The best would be to try to understand the changes that have been made and then applying the learned to your sprite without looking back at the edit. Sure, your new version may end up worse than the edit, but the gained experience would be higher. You also may end up making it actually even better, who knows?
To put it short, if you just copy the edited parts over to your sprite, you end up without having learned a lot if anything at all.
