If I may, I have always thought of Random Talking Bush as the Spriters Resource mascot.
Other than that, I believe a mascot would ruin how many people (including myself) view tSR.

...That makes a very good point.
Why exactly do we need a mascot? What's wrong with the characters that represent its staff representing the site? A group of people interested in spriting and doing their best of the spriting community. What better mascot than that represents us?

I think the mascot should be this badass looking guy with a cloak and a hood that covers his face so its covered in shadow. He weilds a lightsaber and flies around on the back of a skeletal Charizard. I'm working on an example right now.

Its nothing too important really. Just a fun community thing we wanted to do. And besides, Dazz said that his character isn't the tSR mascot. I also think it would be easier and quicker to credit tSR in games by using the mascot, its more memorable and attention getting than the tSR logo.

Well I feel like the The Spriters Resource mascot should be something that represents the spriters and rippers.From good customs to bad edits. From those icons to recolors. This has all made The Spriters Resource to what it is today because without the spriters and rippers contributing to this website the thought of personal expression and having fun doing it would be nothing. If you think faries, guys with top hats, skeleton charizard, and a guy in a black cloak are what this represents then go ahead because I won't claim The Spriters Resource anymore.
Example:
Tom: Battosai Rai are you from TSR
Battosai Rai: Nope
*Applause* *ENCORE*
CANNON TO THE LEFT OF THEM
CANNON TO THE RIGHT OF THEM
CANNON DOWN THE MIDDLE

NOTHING is going to change. Nothing period. The sprites are going to stay the same. The people won't act differently. tSR isn't going down the toilet.
How adding a mascot to the site, that probably will only appear on the front page, in ONE PLACE is going to change anything is beyond me.
Oh and one more thing, don't think you're special, you leaving means nothing to anybody here.

On PT, Petey wasn't used for anything aside from the banner and post status icons.
I don't see how it's such a big deal. Honestly, I somewhat view Dazz (well, his current avatar) as the mascot. But who cares? It's a MASCOT.

I think that Cat Oddy would make the best mascot.
