Still trying to figure out where the 9th frame for the sparkles comes from.

I don't know what he did when he ripped it, but this DoKoCo guy screwed up the palettes for the menu screen:
Try to recolour the brighter numbers with the vSNES palette above and you'll see what I mean. I will re-rip this.
In the meantime, have fun with this finished rip:

Screen-ripped the coins and compared them with vSNES: The colours are exactly the same. Still wondering why his version is slightly off.
This is as far as I can get, the last two sprites are impossible for me because I have no second player.
Davias, try what I do and set up separate controls for P2 somewhere else on your keyboard that you don't use, even if it's just the A, B and directional buttons or something.
Davias, you know each element has a highlighted palette too, right? Maybe that's why there's such a shift in palette?

Ton, any word on if we're allowed to use their unused sprites?

I made screenshots in zsnes and compared them, his sprites have a slightly different palette. I'm really sure his one is wrong, since my palette matches the palette from vSNES.
The highlighted stuff is made ingame (like the red game over screen which is just unneccessary screentone), there are no extra sprites. The font uses the same method + transparency, this would explain why it has more colours than the sprites from vSNES.
@Mighty:
I will try it, but I will not promise it. I'm terrible with my keyboard when it comes to Jump 'n Runs.

Just used the gamepad for player 2:
Added the brighter paletter for the sake of completeness, but the darker and brighter versions of the font are still screwed up palettes. Even with a blank background, they have randomly scattered yellowish colours in their palette, which you can't recognize with your bare eye. I'm still assuming that it's some sort of ingame effect.
Enough of that, I have a question: Where can I find the music and cheat mode? Do I need some sort of save state with 103%?
After you select a new game and get to pick what mode you want, keep pressing down on 2-player contest.

Also, I believe the SNES control is different in other regions. You should get those, as well.

Davy, I added the American SNES controller sprites to your sheet plus the correct font color.

Thanks, never thought there were differences.
I've edited the sheet, the blank space was bothering me.

I know this may have been brought up before, but the aquatic enemies sheet for DKC2 needs to be re-ripped. The sheet we currently have on the site is a bit unorganized. The each enemy has a mix of underwater pallets and normal pallets. You might be able to grab the proper palettes from the cast of characters scene at the end of the game.
