Because the Wii-U doesn't allow gamecube controllers? Maybe.
That might hurt Smash 4 though.

Be honest, who else is so use to playing Smash with a Gamecube controller?
Not a'lot of people. Classic Controller will probaly become the new standard, unfortunately.

The classic controller handles pretty easily actually..

honestly I can hardly understand how SSB fans can still bitch about how bad their games are if they don't have a gamecube controller.

"omg but we grew up with it since we got melee on the gamecube and it's easy to use."

shut up, get used to it. The classic controller works just as good if you don't like the tablet controller.

Nothing about the Mother kids movesets make sense. Both had mostly defensive, and healing PSI in their games, and the girls had all the offensive ones.
I never got the Ridley argument. He's the most noteworthy character to add from Metriod; make it work. It's not like there aren't large characters in other fighting games...

yeah but smash bros is very different from most fighting games and being bigger makes you harder to get rid of and makes it easier to throw others off screen
If he's lightweighted he would be easy to get of stage, and he isn't necesarily hard to get rid of as he would be easy to hit.

Or just plug in the gamecube controller to your wii.

You know, it kinda does that.

Basically all I can think of right now is how much I want this to be on the Wii-U and not the 3DS. Don't get me wrong, it isn't because of my distaste for the 3DS, it's my distaste for needing multiple consoles to play with other people. Me and Charlie live together, we have one Wii, and we can both play Smash Bros. - it's cheaper for us, more fun, and is on a good TV and not a shitty small screen.

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

I can only imagine how they intend to tie the two versions together. Didn't they say that they want to have them interact with each other? I can just see it all being a nightmare.

While personally I can see why people are skeptical about the whole interaction between the Wii-U and the 3DS, I honestly feel that it's way too early to tell if it will be bad or good.

This game is probably in the early stages of development if Project Sora has already finished up Kid Icarus. If anything I kind of think we should wait until we hear more details about how it would work before we even bash it.

Also far as the whole thing about whether or not it should be on both consoles, I think it should be on both regardless if the interaction thing doesn't work well. I feel like there are going to be some people that aren't going to buy both consoles for the same game if you cancel out all the minor differences between the two versions. It's a smarter move on that end.

Heh the funny thing is there's a good chance we won't see any news on this game for a good while.

While that's a point, I want to be able to take Super Smash Bros. with me on the go, so being on the 3ds is a wonderful decision for those who want to play anywhere. Also the 3ds's screen isn't a shitty small screen Smile I'll have you know that.

Well guys, I have used the GameCube controller since the beginning of time, because A: it's more comfortable, and B: I don't own a Classic Controller and am not buying one.

Honestly if you wanna know the truth, the Classic Controller seems a bit pointless IMO when you can literally just use a GC controller for all the VC games and everything (somebody can tell me what the real difference is besides differing design because I don't know). But back on track, I won't be getting the Wii U or any games for it. I feel like I own enough consoles. I also don't think that I'd be able to get everything out of it because of my cluttered and (very) cramped room, and I just don't want one, like with the 3DS (however I'll prob. end up deciding to get the 3DS someday).

To be fair, handhelds almost never take up as much space as a console.

Okay, I'm going to go on a rant.
I hate, hate, hate hate when people say that they can't play without a gamecube controller. 1. The classic controller exists, it's not expensive at all, and they have certain models actually SHAPED like a gamecube controller. If you can't play a new game on a new system without a past systems controller, just go play the past systems version honestly. I have friends who will not play if they don't get a gamecube controller, and if for some reason they do start playing, they just bitch the whole time "I'D BE DOING SO MUCH BETTER WITH MY GC CONTROLLER, UGH THIS IS STUPID WHY DO I HAVE TO USE A WII-MOTE OR CLASSIC CONTROLLER FOR THE WII" It's a new system, adapt, it's stupid that you expect a company to coddle you because you have an unreasonable fetish over a past system's controller. I use the classic controller and it's like a lighter gamecube controller, hell sometimes I'll use a wiimote and nunchuck as I like to move around sometimes, and you know what? I play just fine.

Yeah I wasn't complaining about the Clas. Controller at all, I'm just not going out of my way to buy one when I can play everything perfectly fine with my old platinum GC controller and am more used to it anyway. I have used the Wiimote before (not sure about Nunchuk) and it was rather difficult for me. The point I was making was that, if you already have an old GC controller and are comfortable with using it, then I don't see much point in getting the Classic one as it doesn't really do anything different. That's just my personal thought though, and nothing to go into a rant over. Of course I understand where you're coming from as well.

Yeah true, though that's not quite what I meant. IIRC, you get more out of the Wii U if you're standing up and moving around, so, that wouldn't work in any of our rooms lol.

Personally speaking as much as the GC controller was comfortable, it's literally impossible to play VC or GBA games on it. Using my thumb to get to the d-pad was a bitch.

on a more relevant note, I really hope that people will end this whole GC controller is "god tier" and move on. It's not like they're killing the game at all if they don't use it.

Honestly, with the games I tend to play, I NEVER have to stand up and move around. The Wii-U's big gimmick is that tablet, and it doesn't look like you'll have to move with it to enjoy stuff like say, Super Mario Galaxy 3.
