M&L:SSS Boo luigi

examples of good edits, btw

Plus the only poor edits we still have on the site are the sheets we haven't gotten around to taking down b/c quality control. Either that, or there are no significantly better sheets that can replace them.

I think the main question that needs to be asked is

Does Boo Luigi actually exist in an official game? I know Boo Mario does, but if Boo Luigi does I see no reason why it technically /shouldn't/ be accepted, especially considering that luigi himself is basically just a mario recolor.
Is there an M&L Boo Mario on the site already?

Then again, I'm not in charge of submissions so I don't really have any kind of final say there.
Just my two cents.

Also you're not giving any edit to who originally did the sprites first and since the sprites are custom sprites, you should ask him before you even attempt to upload it here to prevent issues that might happen later on.

I did give credit Look on the sheet It says "thanks to: HammerLuigi" the maker of the origional sheet and all he said was to give thanks to him (look on his sheet top right corner) and if the cuolity controll doesent like edits than you guys need quality controll that likes them because they are accepted on the sight. look under the submission rules it said edits that are based on a video game series character ARE accepted.

Quote:These are the rules for all boards falling under the category of spriting, which include;
Submissions
Discussion
And Projects

1. Before you submit.
Before you even think about submitting, check this page and then really ask yourself if you think that your work will be accepted. If the answer is a most definite yes, throw your sheet(s) our way. If no, ask why, and correct the mistake. If unsure, then post in the sprite discussion board.

Well, that isn't here.

2. Don't just say it's bad.
If you plan on telling someone that their work isn't very good, tell them why. And remember to be a bit gentle about it. Be as brutally honest as you can by all means, but don't just say "that's terrible" and don't get personal with it. Tell them how to improve if you can, and if you can't at least say that you don't know how they can correct it.

Not here either.

3. Don't get angry or upset.
If you can't take the criticism, then you shouldn't be showing your work. It's as simple as that. Of course if someone has just said your work isn't that good you should be upset, maybe even angry, but just accept it, and if they were just flaming you with no real criticism, then report it to us and we'll take care of it.

Seems like a trend so far.

4. Don't make requests.
It's simple as, you don't request for people to do work for you. You can ask for their help as long as you put some sort of effort in yourself. And don't expect somebody to help you. You'll never learn until you get your own hands in on the action.

And still nothing.

5. USE AN IMAGE HOSTING SITE.
Jesus Christ, would it kill you guys to upload your sprites there and post them here? Attachments are incredibly annoying, especially when I have to download the sprite only for it to end up being a shitty recolor. Not only that but it makes the poster look like an amateur. All you have to do is make an account, upload the image, and paste the link here. Make sure you put it between [.IMG] [/IMG] (without the period)

Please use these sites:

http://www.Photobucket.com
http://www.Imageshack.us
http://www.Pixeljoint.com
http://www.Tinypic.com
http://www.majhost.com
http://www.imagehost.org
(If you have any other sites, post them here) I personally prefer Photobucket.com
*Image links must end in PNG. GIF. BMP. JPG. or any other file type for images to show correctly.
*NEVER EVER POST JPG!, BMP isn't recommended either. PNG or GIF is fine.

Hey look,
nothing.

Oh, wait, what is this:

Quote:Submit your Sprites to tSR if...
- They are GIFs or PNGs. These file types can be made in almost all graphic packages.
- They are ripped from a video game
- They are based on a character who appeared in official game related media.
- They are custom sprites, based on a character who was in a video game

Quote:Don't Submit your Sprites if...
- They are in PSD (unless a GIF/PNG alternative is submitted at the same time), JPG, BMP or any other kind of format. GIF and PNG are the only feasible types.
- They are based on a character who never appeared in an official game or game related media.
- Are a character you have invented, such as Suigi, Afro Link or Flonic the Green Echidna.
- You didn't make them. I don't care how good they are, they must be made by you.
- You plan to ask me to take them off the site again. (We will not remove a sheet if you ask us to)
- They are a really simple edits and/or recolours.

Quote:Edits are very much allowed, as long as you put effort into them and if they're not Minor edits.
Customs require quite a bit of skill and practice, so don't submit your first few attempts at custom spriting.
We do have tutorials on tSR. However, we STRONGLY suggest going to the Sprite Discussion Forum first to gather opinions and tips on how to improve. Seriously, you need ACTUAL critique before submitting. Go to the Sprite Discussion baord here before you submit. If they don't like it, it ain't going to be accepted.

I do, however,
still see these rules.
It is a simple edit.
It's literally the other person's sprites.

I honestly don't see how Luigi being similar to Mario is an excuse for barely edited(stop arguing against it. All you did was change the height and nose 1 pixel. and then erased a few pixels in the moustache, while the moustache is still the same shape.) sprites.

All I really want said,
is that you put some more effort into these.
They do not look good, but at the moment,
it would seem that any C+C would be wasted, as you care more about the submission than the actual sprites.

Ok, first of all, stop giving me attitude, and second of all, read the post above this as Proton clearly points out on how wrong you are.

Also just giving him credit is not the same as actually asking him for permission to edit then upload onto tSR, seriously, go ask him.

Also it probably won't be accepted due to the rules, just saying that now. Why those exist, it's probably because they are a little more then simple edits.

ok why this thread is still open is beyond my understanding.

if these sprites were allowed back in the day was because tsr had way lower standards than today. wich means that even if these still exist on tsr is purely because they havent been removed from teh site for the same reasons.

just because someone's poor edits were allowed does not justify that your poor, way too simple recolor and edit of someone else's work would be allowed. we'll judge and we have been judging you for the work YOU did on those, wich again is almost nonenxistant compared to the original work.

if you had at least worked on granting this sheet new animations or some new content to it(and by new content i dont mean adding luigi's sprite at the start of it) it would AT LEAST be something useful, and not some 10min lame recolor and brain dead monkey can do if he ever nedeed to.

also it is interesting that you edited the original thread to add the source right after somone pointed this was an edit of someone else's work.

in any case, if you really consider this had to be submitted and be avaliable for others to be used, go to mfgg, or deviantART, or to any other place where people would not give a damn about how you made this. but for now there is no room for improvement on this aside from recolors are fucking useless.

Thread closed.
