Lord Melchior's SNES Sounds Rips
#16
Oh dear, this game a has -a lot- of sounds...
But my main concern is that some sounds loop forever... I don't know how long to record them for especially since I can't really tell how they loop...
BTW, I may in fact have to take you up on your offer because I tried to download Sound Forge and got bombarded with adware. Sick

I stop recording looping sounds when I'm absolutely sure they've looped at least once (if it's a long sound) or multiple times (if it's a short sound). I edit manually to crop to the loop the best I can, though usually I don't crop to a single loop; I crop it to multiple loops but so that it still loops correctly from end to start. That way if there's a mistake the damage isn't unrecoverable.

And that's fine, send when you have them ready.

Also... is there any way to change the output directory of the audio dumps? It keeps going in the ZSNES folder.
And when I actually click start to record it says "MUST PLAY WITH SOUND OFF" which I don't understand and it disables all sound in the emulator unless I re-load it (it also dumps a small, silent .WAV). When I turn sound off it says "MUST PLAY WITH SOUND ON" so this is really dumb and IDK what to do...

Can't help you if you're using ZSNES. I haven't used that in years. I use Snes9x. If they dump to a folder in ZNES, just leave them there until you're done.
I don't know why but Snes9x doesn't have wav dump. So you can either see if you need to update ZNES or look for another emulator that can wav dump (bsnes maybe?). Alternatively you can try capturing audio with another program while it's playing and just delegate the sounds out from the recording yourself (Wavosaur is an audio editor with a "save selection" operation which can make this process very quick).
