BynineB's Sprite Salad Bowl
#16
That's a crazy lickitung

Genosect's right foot (from his perspective) shouldn't be pointing that way and the end of his cannon thing looks jagged and could use AA/contrast

Bump again. And again I'm sorry for bumping.

I would really appreciate C+C on the Genoseketo sprites in the OP though. That's my main concern.

9 days isn't much of a bump.

And yeah, that Lickitung's lacking a skull, there.

Lickitung prevolution eheh. Sorry I didn't clarify.

Fixed the shading so it's coming from one direction, and AA'd it.

the aa doesn't work for me, i changed the colour palette slightly too:

my anti-aliasing and selective outlining aren't perfect, but i hope it helps you.
selective outlining coupled with aa isn't just about adding to a line, it's also about subtracting and choosing the right value to render a smooth line.

i'm looking forward to more of your work! Big Grin

While that looks great, my only problem is it really isn't in the style of the rest of the SSB project here. Maybe I'm wrong, but..

(AAAH HE LIKES MY WORK AAAH)

Nope! But you can regulate the amount of aa yourself!
I pretty much went overkill on it in my edit, because it is an example and a suggestion (and also because I suck at regulating aa), and I'm not going to do the work for you! :p

BUMP!

Tried some new stuff with textures. Does it work properly?

Texture and consequently volume are poorly conveyed. Rethink the lightsource and how much shadow you put down on the shape.

Edited the shading to fit it its light source properly, and redid the texture slightly.

I was playing around with your design and I know it's not the greatest... But perhaps it could help you?

Ah! Thank you, Delicious. Wonderful work, and I certaintly learned a few things from it.

I especially noticed the eyes, but a bit more was done with shading on the bottom part. All in all, it looks better than before. Thanks to both Chris and Delicious!

A quick GBC styled, RPG-battling-esque sprite. I call it Custard.

Ohh. Now I see how you do that lumpy texture. How 'bout now?

you could do with spreading a bit more noise, like white 1px and dark 1px, for now it's too even, if you see what i mean.
