That's too bad. If you do feel like re-entering, you're always welcome.

Just wondering before I go any further; is anybody else actually working on their entries?
I know people have signed up, but obviously I'm the only one who has posted about any progress.

You don't have to reveal your projects, but I'd at least like some confirmation that the other entrants are working on theirs before I do any more work on mine.

Just because we don't post in the thread don't mean we ain't workin on our game. Some folks are busy working on it, rather than posting in this thread.

But yeah I'm working on mine.

I'm more or less in conceptual stages, since work is such a hassle this week.. I come home with no energy to do anything else other than sleep. :<

That's why I gave you guys a whole month Wink

Damn. I spent all year making a puzzle game and though I could enter it. But then I've read the part where it's gotta be inventive, which disqualifies my game since it's tetris style game. Sad

Oh well. I can always win another award with it on another forum. But I do look foward with what ppl here come up with.

and see the cloud called Hope.
Then, look beyond into space
and see the star called Happiness."

Can the character be of any game or we need to create one?

Also sign me up.

I guess you could use an existing character, but the gameplay should be inventive.

DAMMIT

I knew I forgot to do something

heh
I'm going to have to get back to work on it as soon as I finish my other stuff !!
HAVE I BEEN MISLEAD?? [Image: TeamStory.gif] THE DREAM ISN'T DEAD???

I might actually join this if I can become unlazy enough to finish my C++ platformer engine.

Also, if I don't mind mentioning, I think that depending on the language, you should still be allowed to get the code badge and use pre-made engines/libraries/whatever. Things like Game Maker and MMF are technically engines, because they simplify the making of a game. For my C++ engine, it'll require coding collisions, graphics, and audio from scratch. Obviously, using something that's already made (partially, in my case, because I've started making it) for stuff like that should be allowed. I'm certainly not coding graphics and audio from scratch.

Things that simplify the making of a game are tools, not engines. Engines are the already-made games or game skeletons that one bases their own game off of.

For more advanced coding languages I believe the graphics/audio/input programming could be allowed from before the contest since in GM/MMF2 that's already done for you.

But then again I believe Kaikimi has the final say in this matter, he's much more veteran than I.

Well, in languages like C++, they tend to be classified under what is essentially the equivalent of engines in GM/MMF, only called libraries. But really, all that I'm interested in using is graphics/audio (in the form of SFML), and various functions that I made for loading the graphics and audio, along with collisions.

It also has platform movement, which really only adds up to about 10 lines, so, I don't see why it would be a problem to use it, considering how it's not a large part of the code.

Not to mention that a majority of it isn't finished.

Again, my C++ knowledge is limited. Kaikimi will have to decide.

God, I'm soooo far behind in this contest... Also, I'm using Multimedia Fusion, so I'm at a disadvantage for the coding prize, maybe I can win design though. xD
