If Mario Kart 8's online is anything to go by... it most likely won't.
Keep in mind though that MK8 and SSB4 are made by two completely different developers, and since HAL/Sora has been known to make laggy-as-fuck online modes, that's why I'm fearing about the Wii U version's online.
