I don't think you'll have time to do something as technically demanding in a day and a half: stick with things you can do with the least difficulties as possible.
Find shortcuts, like avoiding loads of creases: you could go as far as not drawing any.
Something important you have to remember about robes is that they "hang" on a figure: the shoulders support the cloth, and gravity pulls the rest vertically downwards. The parts that cling to the form underneath the cloth are the most defined in terms of shape.
Try and consider what you're shading as volume: what would be darkened, what would be highlighted? Where does light land first?
I'd suggest you look for stylizations of robes to get the essentials of conveying robes quickly, and get this out of the way before the deadline!
