I know what you're thinking, and believe me, it only failed because those guys are slackers. Nintendo on the other hand, always puts lots of work into their games.
Mario's been on a motorcycle twice, and link would never be on because they wouldn't exist.
And mario with a shotgun is just pain stupid. Not the gun, its not stupid but boring, its the idea of nintendo being that boring is stupid. A bullet bull cannon would be cool, but a shotgun wouldn't even fit in a dark mario game. But I could see link with a gun, an old one, but a gun.
