Not so fast Walter... maybe if I get a 3DS with 4.5 Firmware... would be more easier... because getting the Flashcart is now kinda piece of cake (Unless you get scammed with a Fake gateway clone), it's distributed almost worldwide, and I can get one from an Spanish store (I live on Spain)... The main problem is getting a nintendo 3DS with that kind of firmware, because those were released if I recall correctly in 2012 (Probably 2011). Is it possible to find a nintendo 3DS that it's too outdated at the end of year 2014?

maybe due for the Gateway release, there are no more of those 3DS's.

PS: Just I know that nintendo 3DS with that firmware are commonly sold along with Monster Hunter 3.
if you know of an online store that is still selling that kind of pack, please send me a link. and I will start saving to buy it. ok?
once I find out it's the one with the firmware I need, I will buy Gateway...

PS2: Even after doing that, I will need all your help to start doing the ripping. I don't know anything of those key shenanigams that the 3DS does have and I need to complete the ripping of roms, The only keys I know are the ones I use to open the door of my house and the encryption keys from PS3 that made me impossible to edit my save games to put cheats without corrupting them .
and maybe finding a cable that connects the 3DS with the computer to do the stuff may be a problem that I can't solve at this moment.

as am aware as long as the 3ds model is not a speaciel edition, because it would be around firmware 5.1 
if it says @2012 Nintendo the the frim ware will be around 4.1- 4.5 so i do suggest you look at the boxes if you decide too get one, but even that's a gamble am pretty sure there is way too downground too 4.5 though

the only problems I find are mainly two...

1- The prize of the console, even if it's an old console from years ago, a Nintendo 3DS are normally at 100€ aproximately, no matter the kind of firmware it may have, specially a bit more expensive if it's a pack with a game.

2- I cannot find out the firmware version just by seeing the box (I dunno if it's printed somewhere in the box or should you open it and look at 3DS setup screen to discover it's firmware version), so even if I have the money (That I cannot, becuz I'm saving for 2 PS Vita games and 1 Steam game) I can't afford wasting +100€ for a console that is updated above 4.5 firmware and that kind of gambling means a total waste of that money if I fail.

so, the only way to know, is where can I get just that nintendo 3DS and it's version only (4.5), I can't afford wasting more than just 50€ and I must start saving in 2015 after buying Torchlight 2 in steam and the 2 PS Vita games (Both are Disgaea 3 and 4).

I hope you understand my situation, living in spain means living with such low resources. 

Quick Edit: If I readed really carefully the spanish news from Elotrolado.net and it's really true, Then the next gateway update will work with 9.x firmwares... if that so... Then... AAAAW YEEEEAAAA... But I dunno if it's a guarantee, considering they said the same thing with 6.X firmwares, unless they said that for the most ppl who accidentaly updated their 3DS for any random reason, or was just becuz they had found an exploit only for 9.x firmwares.
although, if I find a nintendo 3DS with 4.5 firmware to buy, I will try to buy it, and I hope to get Gateway as well...
then I will ask you how to perform step by step the model ripping... I have Skype, Telegram, Whatsapp, Line and Cubie. and I will PM it to TGE, RTB and/or you if I have the stuff I needed to do the ripping of Castlevania or any other 3DS game rom.

Quick edit 2: They found it, the exploit for 9.x versions... so anyone having a 3DS with updates of 5.x/8.x... update it right now... so you can use gateway as well when it's released. very soon, We will start do the ripping of every model of 3DS games.
I suggest you to do it as well Mr Walter (Unless of course you have 4.1-4.5 firmware on your 3DS, in that case DO NOT UPDATE), then you will need a Gateway (And in the worst case scenario, a cable to connect the 3DS directly to the PC by USB or anything else) just the only thing we must remember, is that we must wait the next update of Gateway install software on their website, of course it will work even on old Gateway cartriges.
