Interesting, but how about giving this a little more work? The biggest problem area I see is the mustache, which looks more like a black blob than an actual mustache. How about giving it a better shape, like the one Mario actually has?

The hat you gave Kirby does not match the style he is in very well. Maybe you could use the palette from the actual game and give the hat a better shape to rectify this? Also, I see a little bit of pillow shading in the hat.
