I think the issue is that Reggie hinted that there would be something shown at VGX and people let their speculations snowball out of control, and by yesterday, half the people on the internet were claiming that Nintendo promised us multiple times that we'd see the greatest thing of all times.
The only thing I do agree with that I've seen people mentioning is that maybe DK wasn't the best game to show off given the audience. I'm personally fine with it but still.
