I understand consistency, but just because someone else had a certain BG color doesn't mean you have to, really.
If you think it's fine you can keep it, it was only a suggestion since bright blue compared to things like magenta and green, which generally everyone is used to, might hurt some people's eyes but it could just be me.
Oh and no you don't, there's enough of a difference between the greens (plus the sprite has an outline):



I'm rather knowledgeable on properly contrasting backgrounds on sheets so I wouldn't suggest the green if I didn't know it would work.
