the biggest problem with paying for live is that not ony are you paying for it, but you still also have ads pushed on you
note how when you turn on your xbox, it doesn't go to the my xbox tab; it goes directly to the ads. if you double tap A when the dashboard boots, you'll be on the menu to buy whatever thing is there
live is set up explicitly to maximize profits for microsoft. I wouldn't mind the ads if live were free, but live offers an ad-infested, gimped service.
There could be so much more done with it. Not to mention that there's a good chance they could run their servers off the ad revenue alone.
I don't actively complain about it, but it really is bullshit when you think about it.
