there is a difference between nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia, and between Actual Objective Quality.

Viper, It's because these days people think that cheating is bad and is for pansys only.

because cheat codes in the present are too fucking easy. you just buy an action replay, put it in, and BAM you've got a million of everything. everybody knows about them, the option is always there, nobody gives a fuck. during the NES or SNES, it was a hell of a lot more obscure. people cared because they were usually vaguely interesting and harder to obtain/

i prefer mystery over shallow simple-mindedness anyday
