I'm not really the end-all-be-all kind of guy, or even the start for that matter, but I'm sure somebody somewhere shares this one opinion I have about your Part I sprites:
Adding special effects from other game styles into your sprite/edit of a completely different style is jarring and hurts my teeth.
Well, maybe not the last part, but I know I grind my teeth together every time that I see style differences caused by adding what are considered to be pretty effects. Granted, it's fun to mess around, so it's not like I'm fuming as I'm posting this. But I can't tell you how many sheets I've seen that use Magma Dragoon's vertical Fire Shoryuken effect from Megaman X4 as a horizontal fireball effect. TEETH GRINDING!!
