Not true, I've seen outstanding things done with 3 or 4 shades. The star needs to be reshaded for volume purposes, right now it's terribly flat.

The other thing I've noticed that brings your work down is the AA. With it, the outlines look too heavy, and without it, the outlines are broken because you won't repixel them. I think the non-AAed versions would look much better if you fixed the outlines rather than leave them as they would look un-AAed.

I'm going to also have to agree that the bouncy animations are getting old. They're nice, but... try something new!~

You're a good pixel artist, so I'm hoping you won't turn this critique down like you did to CeeY! Keep it up.
