Ripping sprites from Gameloft JAR games
#16
B.Well, I'm already starting to extract the sprites of the bosses, the giant anaconda and the yeti go well, but the second boss has a bug or error that his foot sprite disappears and bug, I don't know if it's a bug since I'm running the Nokia version, I've tried the Android version, the BlackBerry version and it also has that error

this is how it looks

Very well now the scenarios and bosses are missing but this is also easy, here I leave it with the transparency some sprites, also there are the frozen enemies included

well, finishing with these sprites, the playable character and the bosses would be missing, I am now taking screenshots of the bosses and watching them carefully, also the bosses will not be a problem Because they only have one attack, and an easy movement pattern, so I'll be continuing with the extraction of these sprites, and see how I upload them in sprite-resource

another thing, the game has a very strange artistic style

I have few days free currently, so I will also give things a try.

So when i reverse engineered the code of Diamond Rush, i wrote code that was really really messy, now i am trying to understand that months old code, it seems i did not found many sprites from the game because i have just found more sprites from the game, i don't know what the heck is happening in my code, but i am trying to understand it. I will soon upload more sprites with the old ones

I still have not figured out how the game combines sprites together, if i were to know that i can just take the combined sprites, let's see i will try that now

Thank you very much for the things you did.

well thanks colleague, Here we help each other and we are having progress, and another thing with the code, I have discovered where the sprites are housed, it is in .F and they are in the game files, he asked me what program You used to extract the sprites, also those files from what I have investigated have characteristics such as a .pak or a .zip and perhaps they have a bit of code to form the sprites of elements On screen as stages, Character and enemies and etc wow of all the Gameloft games, this one was an odyssey to extract the sprites, but it will still be worth it
It is correct those all .F files contain sprite but they are not like compressed files but they are more like tilemaps
they are like a .PNG file, you cannot extract them or read them with any program, it was encrypted by the Gameloft developers, the way how i extracted the images from .F files was just understand the .CLASS files of the Diamond Rush, how they wrote code, where are the images being stored and how are the files being read.

The code of the game contains in .CLASS files and every other file has the game's resources in .F files
by the way i have the game's sound files too, let's see if we can submit it to VG-Resource or do they only accept graphics?

These are the musics of Diamond Rush
It was also encrypted in snd.f file

this splash image was in spl.f file

the .mid files are the things that were encrypted in snd.f files
i have just converted the .mid files to .mp3

there are multiple ways to convert .mid files to .mp3 it seems because they both sound different
probably because .mid files contains only notes of music
but what i can say for sure is that the .mid files are the original
original in the sense binary of the it cannot change, .mp3 if we convert by another program may sound different and be whole different binary

anyways, heres the link:

I get it what you are talking about
i don't think it's a bug
I think it is just how the running animation is meant to be, let's say this time there was a foot in that animation and not a missing foot, i think it would look weird or different

I think you should do what the game did, even if it's wrong
and it is not on just one platform, it's probably on every.

Well, thanks for that, and as for the sound, it can be uploaded on the .mp3 page, but I don't know if it can be done on the .mid, Likewise, thanks for the sounds, because if you have the original audio, you can test it on other systems and listen to how it sounds, in sounds you can upload it to Sound-Resource
for the moment, I will continue to extract the sprites and possibly extract the complete levels

I almost finished the playable character, only I have problems, the sprite where He is swimming you can't seen, so it is almost impossible to finish it, but I have already progressed 80% in this, Even so I will finish, I will also make a section of sprites where the sprites and the parts are assembled that as always was thanks to you Onskar, when I finish I will upload everything, I'll let you know when everything is 100% finished

I have something to say, the hard disk of the PC was damaged, causing me to lose some sprites, even so I have uploaded here the one of the playable character and the one of the Yeti, so nothing is lost,

A program I often use for jar files is Dragon Unpacker's Hyper Ripper (accessed with ctrl+H) with each of the files in the jar that are not class files. The jar can be extracted with something like 7-zip.
