So, one of the best things about the Switch event was that Puyo Puyo Tetris was announced for a western release (on the PS4 as well...)
I love Puyo Puyo. But I have no idea what the hell Puyo Puyo Tetris is. I get it's a crossover but can you still just play normal Puyo Puyo? And does a 'story' mode for just Puyo exist?

i believe you can. the main catch of the game is that you choose either puyo puyo or tetris as your "attack" and therefore you give opponents puzzle pieces of whatever you chose. then the opponents can clear your attack pieces with either puyo puyo or tetris. i may not be completely accurate but that's what i remember from playing it at otakon.
it's actually really fun, and i'm disappointed that only now like five years after it's release in JP they decided to bring it west...

And I'm absolutely livid. I bought a Japanese copy of Puyo Tetris the first weekend in January. And now it's coming out for the PS4 for $10 less than I paid for it (it's the same price on Switch)
what the HECK am i gonna do with this fricken japanese copy now that sega has finally deciphered the moon runes

it's sega of america, what did you expect? they only care about sonic so they rarely bring their other properties west.

gotta remind myself to give it a try. it looks like they're fixing up a lot of issues from the first game thanks to the (rather harsh) criticism!

Although I dislike IGN greatly, there whole 'review in progress' business feels so shady... just looking for traffic...

It looks good, but it still looks like the movement pace is too fast for the level design. Sometimes speed just isn't great - the same issue some of the later 2D Sonic games have...

Hearing lots of good things about Nier Autowhatever, sounds like a modern The Guardian Legend...

- $30 (or more) for 57 games, 8 books, and a music album
- I highly recommend many of the games (The Witness, World of Goo, Super Hexagon, Super Meat Boy, Human Resource Machine)
- 100% goes to ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, and the International Rescue Committee

It's weird how many 'tribute' games there are now. I mean, is this not a hint that the original companies should make a new game?
No new 2D Metroid - Axiom Verge.
No new Ghouls 'n Ghost - Battle Princess Madelyn
No new Castlevania - Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Seems weird...

I love those games, but Axiom verge and co. are aimed only for a small minority, it wouldn't be profiteable.
Fps and action games are more suited for today's standards.

If it was budgeted correctly I'm sure money could be made. I mean new £20 downloadable 2D Metroid sounds like a better seller then Captain Toad... (Don't get me wrong, that game is good - but can't imagine it bringing in the fat stacks of cash).
