GAMER LOUNGE 20XX (NO CASUALS!!)
Well, anything should be experienced personally to formulate your own opinion on it, but sometimes it isn't necessary looking from the outside in. For example, it doesn't take a genius to see that Bubsy 3D or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde NES are bad games, or that the new Ghostbusters movie looks mediocre at best, however, you also have things like Wind Waker which got a lot of backlash at first, but some time later came to be known as a classic.

If you listen closely, you can hear the distinct noise of two moon rabbits laughing their cotton tails off. Possibly at that very notion.

True enough, but 5.6 seems to fit in this case.

Not that I'll ever find out for myself B)

So basically the moral of the story is: Trust nothing except your own gut. Okay, gotcha.

...Seriously though, I can't help but be fascinated by all this. We have something that could've been an amazing spectacle of good old-fashioned awesomeness, and instead wound up as something that'll probably end up as nothing more than a footnote in the pages of gaming history.

Heck, I don't even need to acknowledge official "reviews"(Wasn't going to anyway...) to do the math here. I don't think I know any other game that managed all this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't something similiar happen with Metroid Prime as well? Like, I recall hearing that the initial reception wasn't exactly golden at first.

can't help but sense a bit of sourness from the whole Masterclass fiasco when looking at the reviews...like is the game really that bad?

It's not that the game is terrible. The issue is many people were expecting to get an excellent game, possibly on par with Megaman 2 or 3.

I had a feeling the game wouldn't be MM2/3 tier from the start but it seems to be downright average, which is just not okay.

It sounds like one of those "it's a good game, but not a good *legendary game franchise* game" cases.

Perhaps. But if the gameplay really is just average or a little above average rather than genuinely good, there is a big problem.

It could be an Other M-like situation where the gameplay, while not "bad" is just okay.

______________

Huehuehue.

The game is "better than nothing" according to the esteemed creator.

That's debatable.

I'll just leave this irony-drenched response right here.

inb4 people start goin' "dude you in no position to sass" even though I'm pretty sure there's NO EXCLUSIVE ON THAT to begin with

well, dweebos, guess who has a lot of money and dropped it on a PS4 copy of the game

!!!!!!!!!!!!this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm heavily in denial because let's just roll with the idea of me buying this version because there's download keys for the PS3 and PS Vita versions, so it's like $10 a port if you think about it :0)

in short: this feels more like an indie title than it does a AAA one. which i guess makes sense. it's kinda obvious that no one who's actually reviewed this game has actually beaten a megaman game before, and that it's just cool to trash a game because everyone else is doing it

for real though, the game isn't great but it's not like AWFUL. it's just...mediocre. it feels like a modern-day megaman indeed, and it's got this harkedly different gameplay probably because keeping it too close to the source material would've lead to some legal action with Capcom
and $4 million doesn't seem so bad, honestly - it only seems like it's a problem because all this was done in the public eye. A game like Call of Duty's generally got a production budget of $40~50 million and another $150 million is used to advertise it, soooo

look let me keep trying to justify a game that should be a decent $10 during a steam sale ok

That's basically how I expected it to be. A throwback to a genre that hasn't seen a whole lot of action in a while from a developer whose sensibilities peaked in 1993 and who wants to make a modern game that feels like an older game.

In other words: I'm probably going to love the fuck out of it.

Alienation is adding local co-op and Doom is adding the option to play with classic 'centre screen gun' - happy times!

Super Mario RPG is now finally on the Virtual Console for the American market. An ever so quiet release.

I'm pissed off because I really want to buy it for a friend that has never played the game, but there is no way to gift VC games on the Wii U. Get your f--king act together Nintendo.

"Here's ten dollars in eShop credit. It is specifically for this game."

There are currently no plans to add a gift feature to the Nintendo E-Shop.

Please understand.

I'm surprised nintendo have never given people a way to do this since the original Wii and dsiware stores. Makes you wonder why they're choosing to stick with bare-bones online features.
