I sat through seven other X-Men movies waiting for more than a half-minute glimpse of the guy, I'll take what I can get.

So the Ghostbusters trailer is out, and I'm actually not impressed with it.
Yeah, this is going to be terrible. The jokes are unfunny, the ghosts look more fake than the original's practical effects. (Poor Slimer)
But man, it sounds like the new theme is some dubstep remix crap and I hate dubstep as much as everyone else.
Other problems include how stereotypical Leslie Jones acts in it: The sassy black woman we're already sick of seeing in recent comedy films.
Not a fan of Melissa McCarthy either because she's always typecast as the fat comic relief in whatever she's in. Kristen Wiig's meh as well.
I'm not familiar with Kate McKinnon, but I didn't like that fanservicey gun lick she did. Too forced if you ask me.
Plus the use of pop culture references (IE The Exorcist) is something that feels out of place, considering the originals rarely did use them.
Like what happened with Fantastic 4's trailer. It has a lot of dislikes, and the studio deleting comments over this and that.
And it's likely going to be the same deal as Fan4stic. The preview's responses alone, plus nostalgia, are going to hurt this movie.

This is pretty much how every fan, including the girl fans, feel from seeing the trailer in a nutshell.

Dubstep's only been mainstream for about six years and I'm already sick of it ><. But this is a movie thread so I'll talk about something else.

I'm hoping to watch Zootopia soon. Being an enthusiast of anthropomorphism myself, I have a feeling that I'll enjoy watching it even more than I enjoyed watching Frozen. I'm not too worried about seeing people in fursuits at the theater, because 1. I can't imagine any fursuiters live in my area, and 2. I'd be more worried that they'd be hot in those suits in a movie theater. /sarcasm

The ushers working at the cinema would most likely kick them out, because seeing fursuiters going to the film would be extremely cringeworthy.

Now onto Ghostbusters.
From what I've read, Paul Feig is acting like a massive twat by accusing haters to be sexist, even telling them to go fuck themselves.
The problem is, he's forgetting (or ignoring) that not all GB fans are men/boys. There are plenty of woman/girl fans hating on it as well.
Not helping matters is Leslie Jones's tweet where she said "men are the worst!" over those calling her character a stereotype.
Winston Zeddmore was a normal every-man. Patty Tolan (Jones's character) is the complete opposite.
Sony themselves are acting like big babies too. Deleting comments and having what seems to be fake accounts praising the movie.
Most of the deleted comments are not even the ones being sexist or racist. It's the ones with honest opinions.

As for the ghosts. I really don't like how what we've seen so far are brightly neon undead humans made with overdone visual effects.
The fun about the ghosts in Ghostbusters is that they came in eldritch forms besides humanoid. This is evident in The Real Ghostbusters.
I can say I'm happy to see Slimer, even if he's CGI now. But nothing beats the cool and complicated puppets used in the original.

Being a fan of the original movie, I'm still not sure whether to see it or not. None of the stuff in the trailer made me laugh.
I showed my mother the trailer because she enjoyed McCarthy in Tammy. Yeah, she didn't smile or laugh either.

Photo leaks of the official action figures reveal two villains featured in the film. A red demonic creature called Mayhem. But the biggest one is the big bad called Rowan who resembles the ghost from the logo. I know fans have always wanted the logo to be a ghost they would fight.
Though now many wish the original 'Busters were the ones to take him on after seeing his design.

Also from the toy leaks. It appears the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man might be appearing in it as well. So that's another good thing.

I finally had an opportunity to watch Brave during a plane flight. I like Frozen as a musical - everything's well-written and Idina Menzel has the voice of an angel as usual. But in terms of being a theatrical film, Brave outranks Frozen significantly.
Kudos to whoever designed Merida - she's quite possibly one of the more unique CG characters out there. I'm definitely giving Zootopia a shot, and might consider watching Moana once it's out.

Brave has some pretty funny animation errors from development.
This is debatably nsfw as most of the errors related to the physics of her clothing and the bears, but they didn't actually "make" anything nsfw so up to the person reading this to determine that. Imgur thinks its fine though.

Her model is essentially a mannequin body, so I wouldn't consider it NSFW.

Sheesh...I don't think even claymation/stop motion studios have errors to that extreme 0~o.
If only I knew how to use 3D animation software. I really wonder what happens to make these glitches occur. And they're not even quick glitches like in video games - these last for like seconds!

It's probably some weird quirk with how the program or the models, themselves work, I bet.
Like, in that final one, the dress and the body somehow became de-linked from each other, or an animator screwed it up by accident. Not sure.

I do know 3D modeling/animation programs support a lot of interesting stuff, and can cause some pretty interesting errors. (and perhaps this is even a side effect of how flexible they can be)

While this is on the subject of video games, my friend showed me a video of the no friction mod in GTA (V? i don't remember which one...) Just by changing that one property in the physics engine, there are some pretty dramatic effects on how the physics work as a whole.

Anyways, anyone's guess what happened, I guess... unless there's someone out there, willing and able to explain it.

I saw Zootopia today. Good LORD what an amazing movie. I was actually expecting to leave the theater a furry, but instead I just left the theater and just felt...hopeful for Disney's future, lmao. The movie is so smart and extremely self-aware.

If you're curious what the actual plot/theme is, here's the gist as the trailers don't do it much justice. Spoiler-free, I promise

The movie actually attempts to tackle racism and prejudice, and does so in a pretty smart way. Kids might not pick up on it so quickly, but if you're an adult walking into the theater seeing this you'll see it right away right from the start of the film.
MAYBE a spoiler though? The movie gets steadily darker, really, REALLY fast.

And here's a little spoiler. It's out of context so no story details spoiled. If you're a furry, please read this. If not, read it anyway. It's about one of the gags, lmao

There is actually a scene where the two protags end up visiting a nudist colony. Disney clearly knew exactly what the fuck they were doing with this film.

But uhm it's hella good. If you wanna wait until it's on DVD/Bluray or Netflix that's fine but it really deserves a watch. Oh yeah and I'm probably totally definitely buying it on Blu-ray, no questions asked



Oh, yeah, and if you're avoiding this movie because "oh no furries" you are a dumbass. There's a much deeper tale to be told within this movie.  Like seriously - forget about Seth Rogen's upcoming "Sausage Party" - I don't think Zootopia was written with children in mind. This is definitely a grown-up's CGI film from beginning to end. Though it wouldn't hurt for kids to see it, the main issues presented in the film are just going to fly over children's heads in favor of some of the slapstick comedy seen in the film (which is...actually executed pretty impressively somehow, by the way)

I'll watch Zootopia for sure. I saw a couple trailers, and I'm used to seeing movies that take *really* dark turns, so I'm sure it won't surprise me as much. Otherwise, I think it promises a lot worth watching .

It totally seems that Disney's warmed up to having adult fans...Especially with that "gag" you're talking about xD.
