D'oh! I was going to point that out in my analysis of the image, but you beaten me to the punch...
Anyway, I was going to point out how the Amusement Park area Bowser built looks very similar to what Dr. Eggman would do. Did the good doctor gave him some suggestions during the olympic games?
Also, I noticed that there is some sort tower in the back of the park. If you ask me, it looks unusually similar to the skyscraper housing the king of the Pigmasks, don't you think?

Looks like it's shaping up to be a very good Mario game then! Not only are they borrowing from Dr. Eggman to make Bowser more interesting than he already is (considering how he acts in the RPGs, that's pretty hard to top), but this little bit of Mother fan service makes me hope for more references! This game is defiantly at the top of my list!

Is Toad (the unique Toad who has always been named Toad, the guy called Toad in all of the spin offs and things) the blue Toad, or is he the Toad brigade captain (the red Toad with the helmet)? Does he even exist as a character any more? This is very confusing

I think it's canon that he's the Toad Brigade leader now. (Mario canon pfff)
Besides we couldn't have a red Toad, red is already assigned to Mario

And I think the blue Toad is the Toad way way way way back from Doki Doki Panic Super Mario Bros. 2.

I think he's still around as the main red Toad you see, usually in party games. There's also the Toads in the Toad brigade, and the main yellow Toad and blue Toad. Toadette, as well. It'd be nice if they'd develop them more, but yeah... Maybe after Miyamoto is gone.
I think this Toad is probably the NSMBWii one.

Actually I think it would be neat if spin-offs started using the headlight Toad instead of just him without anything. It would add some sort of charm to the design and make the character more recognizable, heh

If there's gonna be a game, it needs to have the whole Toad Brigade. And it shouldn't be a platformer - they go out and solve mysteries or something.

Nah, it should be more like Indiana Jones meets Mario's Time Machine. They go through history cracking Koopa shells and puttin' that shit in a museum.

I can take that further and mention the maidens from Four Swords Adventures.
Almost Chaos Emeralds.
