I love the design and concept, they're great. Though looking at it now I have to kind of agree about it not looking too Pokemon-ish.
Also, you might consider making that red spot on its forehead an eye with a pupil too to add to the otherwordly feel. Although... why do I get the feeling that something about it doesn't seem quite "voidy" enough, but can't really put my finger on it... though maybe not.

Quick sketch time!
I was trying to give the Ram a slight locomotive motif. It has the smoking horns and smoky wool, and it can turn its legs to connect the growths into a shield resembling a cowcatcher. I'm not sure how the hoof growths should look casually though.
Any design suggestions here? My drawing skills are very unpolished with emphasis on the "very unpolished", but I'm hoping this can get some gears turning again.

i think it is quite good but it needs colour and needs a bit more care rather than just a "Quck sketch"

My millionth attempt to make a Janken trio that works.
From left to right:
Leafan
Kiwi Crow Pokémon
Type: Grass
Biblaid (Bi-blade)
Rabbit Bat Pokémon
Type: Flying
Guardome
Hard Shell Pokémon
Type: Rock
All three are said to be extremely rare. Of each just one is sighted in Triangle Mountain. They're bitter rivals, fighting for the turf in Triangle Cave. The eternal, still undecided battle made them strong. They even match up with some of the Legends!
When the player catches one of the trio, the remaining two will battle for the turf and eventually the superior will conquer Triangle Mountain.
Leafan is based on paper, mainly the hand sign for paper (the spots on its body). His ability, Paper Feather, raises its attack (once, two stages) when facing a Rock Pokémon.
Biblaid (the best I made of the three) is based on scissors, as his ears and wings resemble a pair of scissors. His ears move in sync with his wings. His ability, Scissor Wing, raises attack when facing a Grass Pokemon.
Guardome is based on rock. Not only is he protected by a rock shell and is his type Rock, but the shape of its shell resembles a fist, the rock hand sign. His ability, Rock Rage, raises its attack when facing a Flying Pokemon.
I hope the triangle is right this time.
EDIT:
I just checked the type chart and again not balanced. No triangle is balanced other than Grass->Water->Fire, which REALLY starts to piss me off.
My Game Maker games (Dropbox download links):
Uh, it is balanced because Rock isn't very effective against Grass, IIRC (the type chart I found didn't list how Rock affected Grass, but I could swear I remember it was that way). Neither is Grass VS. Flying and Flying VS. Rock. These new ideas really make sense. Only thing though, when I first saw Biblade, I thought it was going to be a Fire Pokemon 'cause of the wings.

The problem factor here is the Grass Type.
This works one way
Grass beats Rock beats Flying beats Grass
But not the other way around
Flying resists Grass, Rock resists Flying, but Grass does not resist Rock
EDIT:
You know what, the Paper Feather ability now adds resistance (x0.5 damage) to Rock.

Oh, crud, I thought it did...
If only we could make a Grass Fire Water trio that could represent janken without needing extra types... but that seems a bit too illogical, even for Pokemon.
...But then again it might not? I think that might be possible.
EDIT: Really? I forgot! Can we use your trio then?!

My attempt at the Ram final stage, changed the horns, so that they look like a viking helmet, and made the fire come out like a beard, and also merged the smoke with the foot and hands so that they look like if it had fur.

I really like that, actually. My only complaint is that the belly looks a little bare. Maybe a chest plate to mach the arms and legs?

Guys this project has been dead for a while. I might revive it in a new topic once TUGS is done.

I just noticed that one of his eyes is really small. They're both really nice. I don't even mind the longer beard on the other one. The other thing is the back. Is it all smoke ""Fur"" on the back, or will there be something else? The all fur thing seems a little bland. Maybe a little "ring" or circle of no fur?

I believe in Jesus Christ, if you do also, post this as your sig.
Matthew 10: 32-33
"32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
