RE: Game? - Kitsu - 09-24-2009

This is sort of a scary topic I'm bringing up, and it may have already been brought up since the last time I read this topic, but are we going to do an adventure mode with some sort of custom story?

... Not that I have any serious right to taking on such an effort, but I do have some ideas that have been bouncing around since before Brawl.

Of course, I also realize that story is of a very low priority right now. If we don't want to even discuss it now, that's fine, too.

I really wouldn't mind hearing them I thought we could use a storyline for the game too.

I seriously like the "kid playing with toys" story in the first two games. Couldn't we just bring that one back?

I was thinking of an Adventure Mode closer to Melee than Brawl. Something with themed worlds. PM me your thoughts and I'll let you know what mine are. Tongue

RE: Game? - Black Boo - 09-29-2009

Okay, something just reoccurred to me.

These controls must be changed. I can barely find the correct keys and play comfortably. Suggestions so that multiplayer could be possible on 1 computer:

P1:
Move: Arrow Keys
Attack: . and /

P2:
Move: ASWD
Attack F and G

Just a thought, but it could work. A friend of mine tried to make a smash bros fangame and the controls were great. Actual game sucked but still, it was at least playable.

RE: Game? - D2S-Speed - 09-30-2009

Well maybe we can have changeable controls for each different player so that people with different control options can choose whatever they want. Just like in brawl.

RE: Game? - Black Boo - 09-30-2009

Oh yeah, like select a key then push the desired key to change it to desired key, like they do in most cpu games.

Okay maybe that's not the best way to word it but you know what I mean.

RE: Game? - Ninspriterx - 11-05-2009

Would it be possible for this to be compatible with Nintendo controllers you can plug into your computer?

RE: Game? - Alpha Six - 11-05-2009

Use XPadder.

yes it is. Most controllers like that are mapped so that each button corresponds to a keyboard button, and those keyboard buttons. I have a friend who used to play City of Heroes with an Xbox 360 controller. He had the joystick's up, down, left, and right mapped to w, a, s, and d. So if you have a controller that plugs into your computer, then its possible to use it.

RE: Game? - Ekoi - 11-05-2009

Even if a program doesn't come with joypad compatibility it is still possible to use the program JoyToKey, which allows you to set up your controller inputs to be registered as keystrokes, combo-keys, mouse clicks, and moving the mouse.

Gotta love JoyToKey. Shit is so cash.

RE: Game? - Alpha Six - 11-05-2009

XPadder is much better.

RE: Game? - Ekoi - 11-05-2009

It also costs $10. <:/

RE: Game? - Alpha Six - 11-05-2009

No it doesn't. Are you sure you're getting the right Xpadder?

RE: Game? - Ekoi - 11-05-2009

http://www.xpadder.com/

Anyway, they really do the same thing, which is map a joypad to standard computer inputs. All that matters is that even if we don't make it built in, there's still options for people who'd like to use a joypad.
