I'm all for criticizing messed up writing, but you have to base your arguments on what actually happened, or else people are just going to feel assured that all of the criticism, including the stuff that's worth paying attention to, is only a bunch of nonsense

Have you ever been on Tumblr? It's a site where allĀ people do is reblogĀ things that can be disproved with a 5 second google search.

Tumblr is actively making sure there will be no future LGBT representation in Nintendo games. i r o n y

also, correct me if im wrong, but werent we told that the story for fire emblem fates will be much darker than that of normal fire emblem games? i havent heard if this was confirmed or not, but it'd be cool to know.

They claim that Nohr has better story and really show pride in their writer, if it will be as dark as Genealogy of the Holy War is yet to be seen.

I myself can hardly wait. For the game to reach the localization team's desks.
Honestly though, the entire situation of this game kinda makes me laugh and cringe at the same time.

Laugh because out of all the things you could critique about it (Potentially messed-up writing, copious fanservice, some of the character designs ohhaithar Camilla), the one thing that actually set people into a frenzy turns out to be some royally mistranslated crap that a few overly-sensitive peeps immediately took for granted.

Cringe because said royally mistranslated crap actually comes from one of the biggest scum recepticles on the planet.

Been playing Fire Emblem for the GBA, and I gotta say, I freaking love it.

Hector is a badass. Prolly my favorite lord design wise beside Leif.

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - Ark Kuvis - 07-05-2015

I actually really like Eliwood from Blazing Sword. I find he's not often a terrible unit, and he's just generally got a good personality, story arc, and design. In some ways, I prefer him to Lyn or Hector.

lmao I know isn't that fucked

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - Kriven - 07-06-2015

Eliwood is fine as a character, and Roy should have had him as an alt in Smash, but as a unit he's just... eugh...

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - recme - 07-06-2015

yeah, eliwoods stats dont really promote anything, unlike lyn's and hector's. thats probably why he's somewhat weak in comparison.

as a character, i think eliwood is better than roy. i dont hate roy at all, its just that he seems to get a lot of credit due to smash, which really sucks.

Well,

* Kosheh removes my spectacles briefly

I believe that Roy is the lousiest Lord in Fire Emblem. Maybe I'm just bad at FE and I expect all my Lords to be able to take at least one hit but like, Roy can't

he just can't. he just stink
Lyn's good. Ike's good. Hell even MU in Awakening is decent, but like Roy is like a child holding a toothpick
he's literally only good in Smash lol

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - Kitsu - 07-06-2015

everyone in fe6 has relatively low stats as it is
but then Roy, the lord, the guy you have to bring to every chapter, doesn't have reliable stats at all
and then he doesn't promote until like near the end of the game (you'll have to specifically feed him dragons at the end of the game for him to even reach full level iirc)
though his sword is so strong I guess it's not really necessary for him to have good stats at that point in the game

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - StarSock64 - 07-06-2015

I accidentally missed an important item in Sacred Stones, and now I have to choose what I want to do:

1) Pick between two people to promote to a better class, because I only have one seal. Both characters are people who would be particularly useful to me and aren't characters I want to ignore. They're also both level 20 and ready to go.

2) Restart my older save from chapter 9. I'm on chapter 15. nope.

3) Plan to upgrade both characters on my next playthrough. Not planning on playing multiple playthroughs to begin with.

4) Wait until the post-game, where I apparently have a 10% chance of getting it from a treasure chest in a very difficult area on whichever floor it's on. lol.

Missable stuff is the woooooorst

yeah, roy isnt a reliable unit for me, (hell, most units in fe6 arent reliable) but he gets the job done. idk, it sounds like people have a lot of trouble with him, but i dont mind lugging him around. maybe its because im still on like, chapter 10, but he's an ok unit.

dude, MU is very strong if you give the right skills out. i usually max out MU's stats and skills around chapter 15-ish, so from there and forward, i can just solo the maps with him/her. (the skills i give out on random: armsthrift, luna, sol, ignis, galeforce if its a girl, and astra) i think you just suck in awakening koshy :^)

roy is not even good in melee. check this out:

the red balls is when the actual attack hits. yeah, now imagine that with most other hitboxes. pretty disappointing.

its a miracle that he got better in smash 4. (like outranging marth, wtf) otherwise, there would be no point in having him again, other than... nostalgia?

I want them to release Sacred Stones on Wii U VC, because I never got a chance to play it. Always heard it was great.

I thought that already happened? Wikipedia says it was released on the Wii U VC in June in North America, and I recall it being released even earlier in Europe.

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - SageHarpuiaJDJ - 07-08-2015

I just realized that fog levels are unforgiving in FE:GBA.

I moved the Pegasus Knight that I JUST recruited in chapter 17 to the end since Uhai had a sword equipped, so I was gonna pick that time to kill him with the new Pegasus Knight after weakening him, but out of fucking nowhere, a FUCKING NOMAD appears and kills her! I think that the fog levels are the most annoying to deal with, especially that chapter, because you have no ounce of a clue with what you're dealing with until it sneaks up on you, and you lose a unit for it.

Good thing I had a save from a side quest, but that's all the way in chapter 13. ;~;

RE: Waifus, Waifus Everywhere - Fire Emblem Thread - Kitsu - 07-08-2015

don't overextend and always be sure to scope out the area
and make sure to save all the time

fog maps, on your first run, should probably be played defensively
