RE: Pokémon X/Y/OR/AS Model Ripping Project - TheGamedawg - 12-17-2014

You know, I may not be able to use 3DS Max or any of those kinds of programs to help upload some of these models to MR, but what I can do is start to share some of these models to the 3D Sketchup Warehouse. Provided that these models are extracted with a .dae format (those are the only ones SketchUp will open), I can provide the warehouse with copies of all of these models in order to make them easier for some people to access. I of course will give credit to the original rippers. Do you guys think this would be fine because this is the kind of thing I should definitely ask permission for first.

The 3D Warehouse is such a bazaar place to upload models like these... and if you were to import them into sketchup, they would lose their rigging, so you would be unable to pose them... Unless you think people would still like to use them with only their T-Poses  Wink

Hey RTB. Love your models. Someone just referred me to this site and I was excited to play with some of the rigged models.  I was just wondering. I imported the FBX file and the textures, bones and model load perfectly. The models seem to use a single image to work in the character expressions. I see the models have textures for eye transparency and states. You know like eye open, half open, etc.,  Is there an attribute on the models that can be changed to easily switch between expression states or does that have to be mapped manually everytime you want the expression to change? I just wanted to know if I could save myself some work instead of doing that.

Sorry if this is written somewhere. It seems like a lot of the models are like this also and I just had to ask.

You can still pose them, all be it very minimally. However that's not really why you use SketchUp, so I think they would work just fine. I have a busy schedule, but at some point I'll start uploading some of these models to the Warehouse. I'll also be sure to give the appropriate credit where needed.

you have to use the alpha(transparency)map from the different expression states on the iris (colour)map. the idea of the technique they used in the game is to change the expression fast (without loading another texture map) by changing the uv-coordinates (of the expression colour map and the expression alpha map (not iris)) via script-call from within the game-engine.
it might be possible in 3ds max too to change the uv-coordinates with maxscript, but im sorry, i dont know how to code a single line.
edit: sry i noticed u r using maya. i know now what u mean with "attribute". so.. if u know how to create a custom attribute for jumps/shifts of u and v coordinates that is what u wanna do.

Pardon my question, but is there a ReadMe or instructions for how to use OhanaXY?
I wanted to rip the Furfrou models but can't seem to get it to work.

And where do I find those files?
Just wanna make sure I'm not gonna break anything Tongue

As requested earlier, here's a Delibird for the holidays:

#225 Delibird
#225 Delibird

That's unfortunately all I've got for now -- I've spent more time with my family than anything else this month.

In your decrypted rom. once decrypted and dumped, theres a folder in there called 'a'.. the path for the stuff is mentioned above. (Funnily enough ohana supports decrypting and dump roms albeit we havent released that update yet.. soon tho.)

I understand your situation RTB... and just not only for your family... you were also busy with other models projects, that's why I wanted to keep you out of MY 3DS model projects, becuz even if I may help to convert model formats, I may get it from others as well... and I prefer that you focus on finishing first Pokemon X/Y/OR/AS... but np anyway.

besides, I was unable to rip anything from all the 3DS roms I've gotten so far, and one of the projects is Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, a project that has begun in another post, and it's momentarily paused. Tongue

it's good that you gently do the stuff for us... but, Pokemon, Smash Bros 4 and other 3DS games as well?
Oh gosh... take a rest. Sad
it's more easier to focus on one thing first, and once it's finished, then proceed with other projects as well. and more importantly, Take a rest during holydays... I'm happy with my Eevee model, and I can wait for the remaining pokemon models, and I had downloaded OhanaXY just in case I get my Gateway with the 9.2 firmware support. and more importantly... I found a tutorial on Youtube of how to do the ripping, including a guide for getting the Xorpad from the 3DS.  Cute
so, maybe as soon as possible, I will focus more on ripping and sending model files instead of continuously posting to get help, or giving advices...

PS: Sorry if on some of my posts, I went too desperated and annoying, honestly, Not knowing how to rip stuff from a console ROM or an ISO almost driven me nuts. but this time is serious... I'm gonna initiate all my projects, including the paused Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance as soon as I get the Gateway and it's update. Anyway, The Failure with Sadaharu was just coincidence due for the Weird way the BRMDLZ was made. but I think it will not happen again, or at least not so consecutively.   Wink
At least there's NO BRMDLZ on 3DS roms, for now.   Big Grin

RE: Pokémon X/Y/OR/AS Model Ripping Project - deeSix - 12-24-2014

I would like to request any trainer classes from either game (XY/ORAS). Other NPCs would be great too.

Aah, that'd be my problem.
I dont have a rom, let alone a decrypted one.

Where would I go about finding one?
I'm dying to get the Furfrou models ripped, but no one's taken my request to rip it yet so I wanna try to rip it myself.

RE: Pokémon X/Y/OR/AS Model Ripping Project - Random Talking Bush - 12-24-2014

I've updated my Mediafire folder with another few bunches of model files (and BINs, which should work with OhanaXY).
