Hell yeah, I'm game.

Fuck yes, dibs on grass type

Ah jeez, sorry about that! I didn't think that people would uh... take that sentence seriously, haha. Opinions are subjective so they can't be right or wrong... I thought that made the sarcasm in that obvious.

Anyway, I disagree on the exploration. I guess I can kind of see why the map layout is a biiiit sterile, like I can concede that, I just don't think it even affects that much. Like I said before, it's not like it even made that much of a difference to a playthrough in the past. B/W had exploration too, it's just that the main path was linear. All the exploration involved going off the beaten path to find items/shortcuts/Pokemon. Added onto that is the fact that HMs are never needed for progression... ever. They took away badge requirements and instead HM moves only served to create shortcuts or gain entrance to optional areas (X and Y does this too except for a single pointless 10 foot span of water with a guy who gives you a Lapras standing in front of it, heh). Not having to lug around an HM slave to make it possible to get through areas is the best possible thing they could do for PvE team diversity. And then there was all the poking around into every nook and cranny you could do after the credits roll, plus the actual rematch of the Pokemon League (whereas X/Y had next to no post-game content *sobs*). (Also, G/S/C's post Elite Four trip around Kanto had about the same leveling issue as the post-League part of B/W, and people praise the whole Kanto thing as if their life depended on it.)

I'm not saying B/W is perfect? I'll still say Sinnoh's a more intriguing region to me, and that as a whole, X/Y's total additions to the Pokedex was the most solid the series has ever seen. I get massive nostalgia over Pokemon Silver as it was the first I sunk a ton of time into and the same applies to many key parts of RSE. Every Gen has things that stick out to me but Gen V delivers on just about everything I value in a Pokemon game in equal amounts, with as few flaws as possible, so it's why I like it so much. Also like, dang, it had the absolute best game speed out of any of the games. It moved at a super fast pace, which is just what a game like that needs when played for a long time or in the competitive scene. Gen IV and VI are slow as balls compared to Gen V. In fact, the slowness of Pearl is what turned me off the series entirely UNTIL Gen V came out and I was willing to give it another try.

But yeah, here's hoping that ORAS fixes the damn frame rate issues that plague X/Y and maybe actually works in 3D? And that the music has good instrumentation? Please? Pretty please, Game Freak?

EDIT: Dibs on Psychic!

If we're allowed to call dibs I'm hella bug

or something

tbh I think themes would be cooler

Anyways, sort of on the topic, what I'd like to see improved in ORAS over X/Y:
-Actual endgame
-Better writing, if possible? RSE's plot is by definition very silly and I hope they bring back the hamminess that DPPT had to it. I liked B/W's more serious overall story, too, but DPPT (and RSE to an extent) had this very "this is a series about shoving colorful monsters into pocket dimension balls and our villains consist of intelligence-challenged men and women with identical outfits and haircuts, until the big bad actually comes on stage, we're just going to parody ourselves endlessly. We know our plot can never be 100% serious and that's ok" thing going on which I loved. (I don't know if the translation having been done by an SA goon has anything to do with it?) RSE's plot definitely has room for that as well as some more thought-provoking messages alone the line of BW about the danger of thinking in extremes.
-Move tutors, though we are very likely getting them.
-Framerate and music, as Tellis said
-Make Horde encounters less BS. Make them appear later, when Pokemon actually have spread moves. (If Horde Encounters aren't a thing, add another way to EV train quickly and easily.)
-Battle Frontier less cheaty and BS than Maison.
-Don't make the towns and gyms bland like XY's. TBH most of the Hoenn gyms had character, and quite a lot of the later towns did (most of the earlier towns were very forgettable, my brain actually morphed the second and third town into one until I played a randomized rom recently) but it wouldn't be terribly hard to suck the character out of them, given how they made a mostly bland region based on fuckin' France :B
-IV checker earlier in the game. Again, this is a minor gripe and won't make a difference to most casual players, but it'd be nice!
-Not really an improvement, but continuation of Looker's story, please?

I mean, we'd probably would have to have dinner and a movie first, baka. Nervous

You know, you'd think your first choice would be bug (or flying, I guess) given you're Masquerain and all

hahaha, will do.

My favorite Pokemon is actually Tangrowth! I've had this name since my very first foray into the Pokemon fandom (and later, pixeltendo, which is why I still use it here.)

I'm coo' with bug though. I love Scolipede, Accelgor, Vespiquen, and Megapinsir a lot. Also I still like masquerain....

tbh league discussion should probably be its own thread though

HAHA JOKES ON YOU, IT WASN'T BASED ON TYPE

No, our Gym leauge was way cooler and your Team was more or less based on a Theme, such as Chess, or Ancient Egypt. Which honestly I think allows for more creative freedom, and allows you to have a semi decent team that people actually have to think about beating, and make a plan about it when they make up their one team to go through us all. (Which if they switched teams, they'd have to start over again) And it was a very interesting dynamic that actually made it harder then that the games provide, but still really fun. Think of it like a tVGR 'Nuzlocke' rule but based on how people do Pokemon Gym Leagues instead

Dibs on Musical Theme

Original League post thingy here to get yourselves familiar with things- http://www.vg-resource.com/thread-16947.html

Dibs on Unown theme. I have full party of Unown. Come at me with your Magikarps!

Sorry I have to burst your bubble, but....

Chad the Dad Wrote:Gyms in the TSR League are no longer based on arbitrary type limitations. Instead, we will be using gym "themes" instead. Your theme is completely up to you, though I ask that it not be a gag theme (Fart Master Chad with 5 Muks and a Garbodor). Examples of themes (taken from the last thread):
Historian
Desert
Martial Arts
Cryptozoology
Power Plant
Artist
Jungle
etc etc etc

Once you have your theme chosen you must create your Gym Leader persona as well as your team.

Sarcasm can be hard to detect sometimes, ha ha. I think I need detection goggles for this.

Anyway, looking back on it, I didn't even think about how the main path didn't need the HM moves. I just sort of went through expecting the need to have them in general, since all the games prior required them. With that said, that's definitely a step in the right direction, since it let's players not have useless Pokemon on their team.

I forgot to mention that I did like the area diversity in B/W, and that the versions had area changes to make them more unique. It is a tad awkward though, in the sense that which one is the canon one? If you were to walk into the Pokemon World, for example, which versions of the cities would you actually see? Unless, of course, we get the dimension answer...there's a Black dimension and a White dimension.

Did you run into the grinding issue others have run into for the game?

RE: Pokémon AlphaOmega and RubySapphire - NICKtendo DS - 07-10-2014

Still Unown theme. 1 Unown, Sigilyph, etc.

RE: Pokémon AlphaOmega and RubySapphire - Maxpphire - 07-10-2014

Also apparently Mega Metagross

RE: Pokémon AlphaOmega and RubySapphire - megaMasquerain - 07-10-2014

Knew MegaMetagross was going to happen. Wasn't expecting that design/bodytype though! I like it. Curious what they're doing with ability (levitate?) stats and typing, if anything.
