RE: TFR: Not So Turbo Edition [Program] (Updated 8-9-16) - TomGuycott - 08-10-2016

Ah! No worries. I gave 7zip a try because it compressed the files really well, but I'll go back to zips to keep it simpler.

Also I wish I recorded which moves now have the new flying arc knockback I tried to make, but I forgot to record what used it. I know C2B's back punch (the butt one) does it, and Gilbert's Forward Kick does it now.

Cool! An update! Big Grin
The character selection menu is looking a lot better, yay!
So I played with a few characters:
-Chaoxys (AI) seems to spam his specials a lot, like the blocks and the crabs, which is rather irritating. Plus the blocks seem to deal a lot of damage?
-Sol gets one shot killed
-I really enjoyed playing with Icicle and Gors

Keep it up Smile

RE: TFR: Not So Turbo Edition [Program] (Updated 8-9-16) - TomGuycott - 08-10-2016

All fixable, except Sol. He's permanently a 1 hit kill.

(Just kidding, that's a carryover from Spritality testing. I made characters die in one hit so I could test it easily, but forgot to change his back)

With Chaoxys I was tweaking his block power the other day and I guess I overdid it. As for his specials, I think one of his standard AIs got overwritten with specials. Because Fighter Maker is dumb, when I add new skills the old skills get pushed down the list, but the AI goes to the skill slot number rather than to what skill I originally programmed. So instead of having programming for moving forward to close gaps (which would be no move at all), he now is spamming specials when the AI would have originally just been moving forward. It happens all the time and I hate it.

How do we unlock Pt and Pk?

Oh nevermind. Just fought Sketchasaurs.

RE: TFR: Not So Turbo Edition [Program] (Updated 8-9-16) - NICKtendo DS - 08-14-2016

Beaten single player as Neko, including the Secret Haiku (match was very close). Icicle didn't really put up a fight. Like, at all. He did nothing. I threw him, he took damage and blocked like a normal, idleing character would. He just did nothing. (Maybe he was frozen? ...I'll see myself out.)

RE: TFR: Not So Turbo Edition [Program] (Updated 8-9-16) - TomGuycott - 08-14-2016

Err, that was my bad. Apparently I never checked off the box that designates the CPU's enemy (which would be the player). It actually doesn't automatically do that, so sometimes they slip through the cracks and I forget when I am doing it. Either that or the boxes somehow uncheck themselves.

RE: TFR: Not So Turbo Edition [Program] (Updated 8-9-16) - The Phinx - 08-18-2016

Arisa is in the game somewhere. I have yet to encounter her.

What language is this game coded in btw?

RE: TFR: Not So Turbo Edition [Program] (Updated 8-9-16) - TomGuycott - 08-18-2016

Arisa is in the game in name only. There's no way to encounter her yet.

But soon...

Also the game is programmed in 2D Fighter Maker 2nd, which is... a very limited, but interesting engine.

Feral Neko's Spritality isn't working for me. Is that still a W.I.P. or could it be a bug?
I have tried Princess' Spritality. I love the logo animation.

Overall, I'm super happy to be playing the latest build.

RE: The Fighter's Resource [Program] (Updated 4/26/17) - TomGuycott - 04-27-2017

Hmm, it works for me, maybe I made the window in which it works a bit too small. Stand about this distance away:

RE: The Fighter's Resource [Program] (Updated 4/26/17) - NICKtendo DS - 04-27-2017

It works. Had to try it out several times. Not to be sure or anything. It's just so damn satisfying.

By the way, it's King's Day here in the Netherlands. I couldn't have picked a better day for Princess' playable debut.

EDIT:
I found a sound bug in the cat house stage (the one C2B made). Sounds, including music, only play for a split second. The bug is gone as soon as the stage ends, either by moving to the next stage, returning to the main menu after a Game Over or simply quitting the game.

P.S. Bombergirl's Spritality came out awesome, especially with the SFX.

RE: The Fighter's Resource [Program] (Updated 4/26/17) - TomGuycott - 04-28-2017

Sorry about that, that's a byproduct of trying to fix a DIFFERENT bug where the music from one stage kept playing and overlapped into the next song infinitely. Unfortunately I forgot a small, but key step that allowed the fix for this stage in particular. What's happening now is the song keeps starting and stopping, and the stopping also stops all other sounds at the time.

RE: The Fighter's Resource [Program] (Updated 4/26/17) - Chris2Balls [:B] - 05-05-2017

I had great fun playing the latest build! Smile

A few things:

Cons
-I felt quickly disoriented on each stage when I moved; I think it's due to the parallax and the characters "slipping", it just didn't feel like my character was actually "there"?
-I experienced the same thing as Nicktendo on the C2B stage (I also noticed the artwork isn't up to date)
-I noticed that there are quite a few projectile-based attacks - some can't be avoided like a Hadouken, so is it worth considering to have some attacks deflecting the projectiles?
-Chaoxys spams an attack with blocks, which is kind of annoying

Pros
-the mechanics are feeling more and more polished
-some of the attacks have a lot more heft to them, it feels good!
-Sol is a lot more enjoyable to play with, one of my faves actually
-SP C2B plays like a charm
-Princess is a welcome addition, I would just limit the range of her projectile attack
-the stages are looking better each time

I don't understand how to do a spritality though: is it a quarter circle forwards plus throw? I couldn't make it work for any of the characters...

Looking forward to the next update Big Grin
