So it looks like there will be at least one alternate costume in Wii Fit Trainer, though Sakurai said he was against the idea.

I believe he meant character customization, since, like putting a Link hat on Mario, would take away from the authenticity of the character.

This goes beyond being a costume. Wii Fit Dude is going to need a new voice set as well.
Hopefully this means there'll be a girl Villager.

Just like Sakurai to reveal an alternate costume on Halloween.
I'm pretty sure it will just be a costume with a different voice, since this character is a special case. The female villager will probably be available too, as it doesn't require any new sounds. I wonder if they'll update the Wii Fit Trainer page.

I'm glad Marth wasn't replaced, and frankly I wasn't too worried. Not only is he the first FE character in Smash, he's how his own series began, and has appeared in multiple games in his series as the main hero.
I wouldn't be opposed to Chrom, but not as a replacement for Ike. I liked Ike's heavy play style, Chrom I almost see between Marth and Ike on that spectrum.
Speaking of which, I like the heavier look of the Falchion. It retained the thickness it had in Awakening, but the hilt is Marth's design, which is nice. I kind of hope Chrom or Awakening's Marth make a playable appearance too though, because I also liked that design of Falchion.

I wonder if he'll speak English this time now that his game has a proper release outside of Japan.
